  1. They really need to be re-painted. Does anybody have a method of doing this so they look half-way decent? Or is there somebody out there with a steady hand who can do this? I'm better at mechanical than paint or body. Wayne P.
  2. I think he does. I offered him a 3-speed I have but never heard back. Wayne P.
  3. Welcome Frank and thanks for the offer to share your knowledge. I know almost enough to be dangerous but I love that ol' P15 banana boat and want to get it as road worthy as possible. With your help, along with others like Don, Norm (both of them) and Ed along with the others who've answered many questions for me, we'll be in Wisc. in June, as well as other meets. In about three weeks, motor is coming out. Complete re-build along with some sprucing up and some mods to be more highway friendly. Look forward to picking your brain. Wayne P.
  4. I haven't looked in the headliner but I have the dome switch on the driver's side and the light comes on when the passenger door is opened. It has the "pop-out button". I have a '48 4-door. Wayne P.
  5. "Handles" on the web are like a "handle" on the cb. A way to have a little fun with a name or convey a hobby or interest. I like my real name, but a very close longtime friend always called me "daddyo" because he also liked to say my name was "Waynard", a variation of the Maynard G. Crebbs character on the Dobey Gillis show.If you remember, Maynard was slightly out there and called just about everybody "daddyo". So when we hooked on the net, we took that for our account "name'. I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren so I am "daddyo" 2- 3 kids and grandkids. Maybe kinda dumb, but, never claimed to be the brightest bulb on the tree... Wayne P. p.s.- been driving semis for thirty years. Try not to use that stupid cb, but, I was the "outsider" for years.
  6. That window crank looks in good shape. I need to find one.
  7. Young Ed, Handle has a nice ring to it. That's the same setup I have in my '48. Just position so you can see it blinking. Reminds you to turn it off.
  8. Where did you get the plate and bushing? I'm looking to do the same. Thanks, Wayne P.
  9. Looks good. What kind of air filters are you running? Wayne P.
  10. What year Charger did you use? Thanks.
  11. I wonder about the 306. I've got them in now and according to the Autolite website, the numbers tell the heat range, thread size and if resistor or not. They say with an even number at the end it's a resistor. I always thought it would have an "R" in the model number. Maybe I read the site wrong? I tried Champion in the car. Didn't seem to run too bad, but, I've never had good luck with them in anything else. Wayne P.
  12. That pic was on the HAMB from Bloodyknuckles.
  13. I took one coil off mine. I haven't relocated the shocks yet but is on my list. Car rides fine and has just a slight stance, which is what I wanted. Haven't scraped anything, either.
  14. As long as it doesn't get like the animal house trip, anytime. Wayne P.
  15. "young" and "old" are relative terms. You'll always be younger than most on this forum. Heck, I'm 52 and Jack calls me "Kid". Wayne P.
  16. That's kinda what I thought. Just seems like a strange term. I'll volunteer for that . Wayne P. p.s. THEN if they want, I'll do the wedding...
  17. who's going to do the "running mate" interview? Or the "vetting" ( don't know what they mean by that:confused: )
  18. is John"47plevy". I posted about the small grill trim I needed and he contacted me right away. Was going to even send me a fender and grill, which he spent alot of time on trying to fix up. After all that, turns out shipping would be ridiculous. So he sent me the trim (plus an extra set to bring to young Ed and his "slighty damaged" coupe). He mailed it off then told how much to send. Very reasonable. Great guy on a great forum. Thanks, John. Wayne P.
  19. Only from the New York Times...
  20. Thanks, Tim. I like the way yours turned out. Appreciate the help. Wayne P.
  21. If you need a co-pilot for a parts run, let me know.... Wayne p.

  23. Oh,man. I am sorry to hear that.Glad you're o.k. Anything I can do for ya, just give me a call. Wayne
  24. I live in Southern Minnesota, kinda "rural" area. But if I ever had to move to "the Metro" area of the Twin cities, first place I would look at is Plymouth, Mn. Wayne P.
