  1. Sweet cab/fenders for an off road truck, with the big wheel openings etc.. Cool for sure:cool:
  2. Door lock and key I had to cut the door lock off of my 49 b1b. There was a key broken off in it. Anyone have a lead on one? I might need any related hardware to install it too. Thanks
  3. It's more likely that lowering the rear will bring the angles back to where they should be, instead of making them worse. Caster will be improved, thus high speed handling waaaaay better. My crown vic suspension giuves me 5 degrees of caster on my ph. That's with a pretty good rake already
  4. It does look awesome. I like little changes that make the trucks make more sense. It takes the truck in a different direction.
  5. The Mercury trucks were to Ford, as Fargo's were to dodge. You could get them up here, but not down there. A local dude just brought home a 57 mercury 1/2 ton. It's pretty cool.
  6. 9k is a pipe dream. I think it would be hard to find someone with 4K in hand, who was/is willing to buy it. That guy is out there somewhere, but you gotta find him.
  7. It would seem I've missed that there was such a thing...lol I've never seen one first hand, and just never noticed in the pics. I thought the taller box was the big deal with these things at the time.
  8. Very interesting the combinations of parts that get pout together over the years! Cool truck!
  9. I see your in ottawa now. I lived in pickering till i was 9. Still have family around there. Also in Bath, and Cobourg.
  10. 440 eh? There's no replacement for displacement.
  11. I love that quote too...lol As for the coast, I am in Carstairs (just north of Calgary) It's about 12hours to vancouver area, so that's where we went. Wife's cousin lives in white rock. We have some friends in Abbotsford, and the race event we went to, was in Mission. All about an hour radius of each other.
  12. Going back to your earlier floor, and firewall pics. That looks great dude! This rig is going to have some style, and be put together in a pretty decent manner! Strangely, I never thought of using a donor firewall, when doing mine.
  13. thanks guys! I wanted it to look like an old, maintained truck someone threw wheels and tires on. I think I got that. This project was a real eye opener for me. I've done lots of muscle cars, but this was waaaaaaaaaaay more work. I'm a professional auto tech and it was a LOT of work. I did everything except, 1) put in the windshields, and 2)weld the 4link brackets to the 8.75. For all the work, it was well worth it! By far the most rewarding vehicle experience I've had.
  14. I'm doubting that third one, since it looks like a dead ringer for the jack that came in my 74 D200 when it was new.
  15. I hate tire shops. They usually tell you how they know everything, right before they bust your left hand lugs off.
  16. Got the truck together. Drove it to the coast and back (2500 km) The video reviews the build It's been fun. Can't wait to do some winter upgrades!
  17. The wedge install wasn't too hard. Main issue was the length of it. I cut part of the firewall back. There was a line I followed in the stamping. It's about 4" back from stock. I also removed the horseshoe rad support, and supported the front clip and fenders on the frame. Other than that it was a piece of cake...lol A 26" mopar rad fit in there with a slight trim of a top frame rail. about 1/4" on each side. That put the 727 where it just cleared the floor. Drive shaft ended up 46.5" center to center. I used a 3/4 ton truck transmission crossmember to support it. It all seemed to work out. I'll get you more pics/and details if you like.
  18. Thanks dude. I feel the door art in the same colour as the wheels ties it all together.
  19. ps. For those wondering, "Danforth Cartage" was my grandfathers trucking company. He lived on Danforth Road, in Toronto. The lettering, and phone number are from pics of his trucks, so they are legit. That was in ontario, where they rust to nothing really fast. This truck spent it's life as a aaa/caa service truck.
  20. Most of the odds and ends sorted out. Last detail was/is the lettering in the pics.
