    49 fargo

How it looks today. I've used heavy truck fenders (with the larger opening) to allow me to move the front axle forward. I have also widened the rear fenders 1.25" so they line up with the running boards. I have the engine brackets fabbed, etc. Need to install the engine/trans, plumb the brakes, wiring, glass, and then she's ready I got the truck in 2006. Most of the work on the truck was done between august 2011 and now. I expect to have it on the road in jun e of this year (2012)

  6. Hi guys. Anyone know the fuel capacity of the tank in a 49 b1b? It was a regular short bed pick up with a box. Single tank. Thanks!
  7. Hi guy's. I have some suspension parts for free. That's right Free. I'd rather give them to somone who needs them than throw them away. I'm street rodding my B1B, and using an independant front suspension with a rack and pinion. In any case Parts available are: -Front axle, springs and brakes. All as an assemebly. It has been removed. King pins and steering links appear to be in very good condition. I've never had the drums off, so I don't know about the brakes. -steering gear. still in the truck, -rear diff. I believe these had what is a 8.25" ring gear?? It is a removable carrier type of unit, that looks like the later 8 3/4 type. Tapered axles. Brakes are still on. Axle is still in the truck, but can be pulled with minimal notice. Not sure on ratio, but is probably 410 or so given it is an early truck. No chrome, glass, or body parts are available. MUST BE PICKED UP. All too big to ship. I am located Just north of Calgary Alberta Canada email dave@davesmopar.com I realize it's probably a bit of a stretch that anyone on herre is close enough to come and get them, but figured it would be worth a shot. I put an ad on kijiji.ca too. Thanks
  8. As mentioned, unfortunately it's not the same hood , BUT I still like the picture:)
  9. and yes the metal on the fargo is WAAAAYYYYY better than the metal on the 64 was. I do think I'll be ditching the signals from the roof though...LOL:)
  10. Thanks It was a lot of determination. Of course a machine like that is always a work in progress. I recently found one wayclutch/sprague springs in the trans pan, so I am currrently upgrading to a bunch of race parts. My most recent photo....sorry to the dial up guys
  11. I've been browsing for a day or two. Lots of usefull info. I'm a long term mopar guy, but new to this old stuff. I just picked up a 49 fargo 1/2 ton (after some reading here, I guess it is a B-1- Here's a link to some more pictures http://www.davesmopar.com/fargo.htm I'll post some more pics as I get working on it, and seek advice etc...
