  1. Sorry, B body? That means nothing to me. Can you be a little more explicit? How about the drive shaft?
  2. Looking to swap my stock rear axle in my 47 p-15.. what rearend will fit without much adjustment? What make drive shaft yoke will I need to fit my tranny? Thanks for any help. Would also like to keep the same bolt pattern for the rims.
  3. Buy as cheep as you can. You can end up spending a lot of $ restoring one. Restoring the driveline is expensive, as well as doing the interior. My 47 has 37,000 miles, and all original. The jack is still in the box! I value it at $18,000
  4. I watched as the car was burried alive! I then watched when it was raised from the grave! It was too bad they did not have the technology to better preserve it. I wonder how the restoration is going?
  5. Some company used to make a floor hump tray and drink holder that was held in place with somewhat heavy flexible pads. The pads were attached on each side of the holder. It worked great. Would not slide off! All other drink holders needed screws attached to hump, or the holder would slide off spilling everything in the floor. Every time I go into a automotive store, I look for one of these. I guess they don't make them anymore. They worked great!

  7. Nice job,,I'd say your a true gear head!
  8. We'll, back in the day when gasoline was 15 cents a gallon we didn't have much money to gas let alone a car battery. I had a old Harley 45 trike. It had no charging system for battery, so after a period of time the battery would go dead. One day a fellow "shadetree" told me I could double my riding time by taking a regular 12 v battery, and cutting it in half, making two 6v batteries. The old batteries were made a little different on the top. Their were plates on top. This guy said after I get the battery cut in two, take a wood screw and screw it into one of the plates on top of the battery. This would make for another post, +&-. Well, I got the old wood saw out, cut the battery in two, and it worked!
  9. I just found this ok. Tag at a flee market. Hard to find 47 tag. I think I will leave it as is, and display it on my car.
  10. Yea, I know. It's not like me to do something like that. I did go back and look for the box, and saw no trace of anything.
  11. I went to an auction last weekend. Forsale were some old hubcaps, and mostly junk. The auctioneer sat this rather large wooden box on the trailer. He opened it up and said hum, looks like some old mopar parts. That caught my attention , and I bought the box for five dollars! After the auction was over I loaded the box onto my trailer. I thought I would look in the box when I got back home. When I arrived at home I went to retrieve my box, an it had blown off the trailer. I will never know what was in that box.
  12. My 47 has the original front rubber mat. The car has 37k on it, and the mat is showing more wear than I like. Does anyone know of a vendor that is making a mat for the p15? Or, has anyone ever tried to use a mat from another make of car.
  13. Yep! On radials, the way to go.
  14. I'm running Goodyear eagles on my 47, 16 in rims they are almost the same size as the stock tires.
  15. Mine was a 48 Plymouth special delux cp. 45 years later, I have the exact same car, same color, same smell.
  16. I used stock rims with Goodyear eagles, did install steel valve stems. I did this about three years ago and have added little air to any of the tires.:)
  17. Dan, glad you finally stopped by. The museum always has something going on in the summer time. Car clubs, bike clubs, and so on stop in every day. M
  18. Nice car, for some reason it looks a little FASTER than mine.
  19. This is my car with a pic of the old kachina doll that was located about half mile from my house. It was used for years to lure traverlers to stop at the local shops. It is now located on the grounds of the Route 66 museum in Elk City, Ok.
  20. I counted all the cats and all five were there, so that is not the problem. I will mess with the emer. Brake to see if that may be the prob em. I guess I could pull on the brake handle just a bit to see if the noise stops.
  21. I was driving the 47 into the garage the other day. As I coasted past the garage door I heard a thump, thump, thump coming from somewhere underneith the car. I backed out and listined for it again. it sounds like it is comming maybe from the rear of the car. I pulled all the wheels and checked all the brakes, no loose or broken parts. Anyone out their had their car make a noise like this? Could it be a rear wheel bearing? Drive shaft is good and tight. I raised the rear tires off the ground and put it in gear and could hear no sound. I guess it only does it with weight on the ground. This afternoon I pulled the car out of my shop and into the garage, I didn't hear the thumping, but that could be because my hearing is not getting any better! Any ideas? Wade
  22. My first car, was a 1948 P-15 Special Delux club cp. I took my drivers test in it using arm signals and all. drove it through hi school. 44 years later I now have one identical to the first one I owned, same color and eveything. M
  23. Yes, I will be careful about the location of the mirrors, as to when the holes are drilled one will have to live with it. My wife has already cautioned me about drilling the holes. Has anyone drilled these holes fo r this type of mirror. any suggestions.
  24. Just bought a set of the swan mirrors, they look great! The mirrors seem to be of good quality. They are made of heavy material, and seem to have good chrome. I like the way the round mirror tightens down to the arm, not like the cheep clamp on's. Does anyone have any suggestions on where and how to mount this mirror on a 47 Ply?
