  1. Thank You very much!!
  2. I started my 47 P-15, the other day, and it took about 4-5 blks before the gas gage came to the correct mark on the gage. I had about 3/4 of a tank of gas in it. The gage stayed on 1/4, and after about 5 minutes it came to the correct level. I wonder what caused this to happen. maurice:confused:
  3. Anyone know where I can purchase a trunk gasket for a P-15 Special Delux coupe? Mine has finally turned to black crumbles. Maurice:eek:
  4. Anyone going to the car show in Arkansas City this weekend? M
  5. Tim, I'm from Oklahoma, so I don't guess I should come to the party. Maurice;)
  6. I did ask my buddy what he and his were going to use since he used the enema bottle on the mechanics of the car. I told him he probably had extras hanging from his store ceiling. Maurice
  7. I asked for help the other day for my buddies stuck clutch on his 48 Desoto. I sent to him all the different kinds of techniques suggested by fellow members. He emailed me back stating he had tried many of the suggestions offered. He also said he solved the problem. He is a pharamist, so he used some of his tools of the trade. He got a emema bottle and put some alcohol in it. He injected the alcohol on the clutch plate, let it soak for a while. He then started the car, and the clutch broke free in the drive way. It now works perfectely. I told him being a pharamist and a gearhead doe's have it's advantages.:) Maurice
  8. I will email my buddy, give him all the good advice which includes everything except turning the car on it's top. Ha, Thanks Maurice
  9. I have a buddy that owns a 48 Desoto. The clutch is stuck. Doe's anyone have any good ideas on how to unstick his clutch? The car has a fluid drive trany. Maurice
  10. Thanks, guy's found answer in previous threads.
  11. The radio in my 47 was working, but had a very loud hum. The hum was so loud I had to turn it off after a couple of seconds. A guy told me about a repair shop in Altus Ok. that worked on old radios. I gave the owner of the shop a call, his name is Tim King. I lived a short distance from him so I decided to take the radio to him. Before I returned home Tim called me on the cell phone, and said "listen to this". He already had the radio working. This guy is fast and efficient, and also charges a fair price. The name of his shop is King's Electronic Repair. 580-477-0238 cell 580-481-0027 ... Maurice:)
  12. Mando, what vehicle did that rim come off of?
  13. Man oh Man, that makes my mouth water. I have been looking for one of those for about 6 months now. I spent alot of time on one of those when I was a young lad. be sure and put some RED paint on it. Maurice
  14. I think the movie will be out next summer. Yea I know, some of the vehicles that were used in the movies were not all stock. I guess they may be able to delete some of the stuff on the cars, I dont know though.
  15. Got to have my 47 P-15 Plymouth in the new movie that was shot in Cordell Oklahoma. This was my first experience with having anything to do with movies. This type of thing is rather new to Oklahoma. The scenes were shot in Oklahoma City, Cordell, Enid, and Tulsa. I live close to Cordell, so I made contac with the movie production co. They called me the day before the shoot, and wanted me in Cordell. It was fun to experience all the different aspects of the movie world. Cordell is a small old time town with a square and Court House. I bet we went around the main square of that Court House 500 times. My Plymouth is a coupe, and light gray in color. I may even get lucky and have a few shots of me driving it. I was the only mopar on the movie set in Cordell. Their may have been other elsewhere. Some of the town folk were rather upset with the production Becaise they removed the Oklahoma flag, and replace it with the Texas flag. The movie takes place in 1957, so they also had a 48 star flag flying. A 54 Ford ran out of gas twice on the scene because it had a hole in the gas tank, and would only hold a small amount of gas at a time. Maurice
  16. Man, that 59 brings back memories, mine was green and white, six with air, three speed. I gave $350.00, and sold for less. It was a slick car in 1974. Come to think of it, I was in pretty good shape in 74?
  17. I don't know which is the lesser of the to evils, mice in your car, or a cat on top of it. I have to keep a cover on my car 100% of the time. Those cat claw marks are hard to buff out.
  18. I got the two windshields replaced in the Plymouth yesterday. I took the car down, and was going to leave it with the shop. The owner said he would really like me to stay with the car. I ended up helping him take the windows out, and install the new ones. The entire operation went without a hitch. The rubber around the glass was in very good shape, so no problems with that. We took the inside trim off first, . We took the inside trim off first, then the outside chrome strips. These strips are the most difficult part. The outside strips are made with a long side that fits down into the out side rubber. We used a wooden block to push the strip straight up out of the rubber. The hole process took less that two hours. I went ahead and chose clear glass. I am glad I did, it matched perfectly. You know, sometimes things do go well on stuff like this. After we finished ,the owner wanted a ride in the car. The bill was $200.00. I thought was a very good price. Maurice took less that two hours. I went ahead and chose clear glass. I am glad I did, it matched perfectly. 20. Appreciate it guy's, I think I will go for the tented glass. Any pointers on installition. Maurice
  21. I just had one of my front window glass cracked by gravel. I visited the local glass shop. The shop owner said he could install clear or green glass. I got to looking at the glass in the 47 p-15 to try and see if it had tint or if it is clear. The glass is all original in the car. It is difficult to tell if their is a shade of tint in the car. Does anyone know if the glass is clear or if their is a shade of tint to the glass? It would be nice to have tint, especially in the front glass. We did hold a piece of light green tented glass to the car, could not tell much difference. Any ideas as to what I need. I don't want to put something in the car that doe's not look original. I guess the glass comes out from the inside. Any advice or pointers on the instalation of the glass, doe's and dont's. Maurice
  22. Got time to install the elec. cap today. It took about one hour to do. The cap looks wonderful, big and chrome. MW
  23. PLEASE, You can talk anyway you want to if you are in your house, in your car (without the emergency brake) or even when you are by yourself. I have worked in the oilfield for 36 years, and have had to listen to that kind of language for all that time. I don't want, or care to see it, or listen to it now that I am retired. You may not realize it but most people who talk like you do don't, know that their are younger adults, and children who use this web site.
  24. The cap was sold as new in box. It was listed on ebay, I don't know if the guy has any more. I will ask. Maurice
  25. My last P-15, 40 years ago, had a electric gas cap on it. As a kid I remember just waiting for the service station attendent reaching for the cap, and I would flip it open. Sometimes they would jump back, and ask me how it opened by it's self. You had to really watch it though because some guy's would grab it and try to un screw it....... I ordered a new one today for more FUN!!!!! MW
