  1. Try contacting someone at Schrader... http://www.schraderinternational.com/?sc_lang=en-US-E ... as they have been in the valve industry since mid 1800's. They might know something about diamond shaped valve stems.
  2. I'm sure that many of us have been in that position one way or another Jeff. Life changes only when you act on what you learn. Here's hoping that the changes you make now solve this ongoing issue.
  3. Well done on the trophy Roger. I have never heard of that category here (north of the border).
  4. Jeff, I was at a car show recently when I spotted this nice blue FJ Holden (GM) ute. Check out the 'port holes' in the hood sides.... would something like that work for you? They should be somewhat effective in circulating air under the hood. They had similar things on the old Buick's from memory. I suppose that they would be somewhat directional so as not to allow rain in?
  5. I'll bring some of the stainless steel door latch spring sets over with me in a few weeks time Hank. I still have to pull my driver's side apart to replace the spring which solves external 'door handle droop'. I'm not really looking forward to the job, but it has to be done (eventually)!
  6. It's all good Paul - the more I drink the more clearer your pictures become!
  7. I can relate well to that Larry - I think at last count I had 14 Desoto Hubcaps for my 52 truck down at the shed. I did manage to find 5 hubcaps good enough to re-chrome amongst them.
  8. You're an inspiration PP. I look forward to shaking you hand at the BBQ.
  9. No problems with the left and the right feet on the starter and gas pedals here in Oz with our right hand drive vehicles - left foot across on the starter and right foot on the gas. Have a read of this link from the Carolina Rover Club about vapor lock. It seems that they are a strong believers of the wooden clothespin theory (paragraph 4) ... http://www.carolinarovers.info/croc-stuff/tips/365-how-to-cure-fuel-line-vapor-lock .
  10. That might explain why I haven't seen them on any of my trucks as we didn't seem to have the defroster vents here in Oz.
  11. Is that what the parts shown as 'Plug 23-22-158' are in the attached picture Mark? I wondered what they were for - to stop the metal 'Moulding 23-22-145' from denting when one tightens the screws?
  12. I never really thought of the reason for the mounts being located where they are until I watched a great old training video that Bob posted recently (there were actually 3 old videos in that link)... http://p15-d24.com/topic/35490-for-your-viewing-pleasure/ . One of those videos showed an engine stability comparison between Dodge and Ford with the engine mount placement (see attached picture) in which one can easily see what the MOPAR Engineers were thinking when designing the engine mounts back then. It would stand to reason that a Dodge truck engine would have better stability than a Ford truck engine bearing this theory in mind.
  13. I have only seen them here in Oz with 2 fuel filters. I noticed that in the video as well Mike...
  14. For those of us who don't do the FB thing Mark, what are their plans for the truck? It looks great in undercoat but surely he has paint plans etc..
  15. They are great old video clips - thanks for posting!
  16. I saw some of those in the old kit that I'm bringing over for you Hank. Surely the percolating issue can't be solved that easily?...
  17. Wire diagram attached
  18. It's good to see you two out and about again Bob. Cooper looks good in a suit.
  19. Try the old solution Jeff... it's said to work well!
  20. It cleaned up pretty well Paul. Doesn't seem to be any warping of panels there. Still plenty of work though. I'm sure that there are many others including myself who would really like to see it at the BBQ. I hope that all goes according to plan.
  21. Try Tanks Inc... http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=68/home_id=59/mode=cat/cat68.htm . I see them advertising in hot rod magazines here in Oz.
  22. You think she believed you Paul?... sounds a bit like the dog ate my homework excuse!... only we know it to be true.
  23. As disheartening as it is to see your truck at present Paul, we all know of your ability and your determination. I expect that you will be ready to move forward soon and I look forward again to following you on your momentous journey!
  24. I know Glen from Vintage & Classic Reproductions... http://www.vintageandclassicreproductions.com/ makes them for the old Holden's (GM) here in Oz and they are a replica of the MOPAR ones ($70 each though). The main problem with them here in Oz is that the shaft breaks off (usually from rusting) and you are left with a vent window which you can't attach a handle to.
  25. The Kangarooo one just doesn't look right to me... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ORIGINAL-KANGAROO-CAR-MASCOT-HOOD-ORNAMENT-ON-NASH-RADIATOR-MOUNT-/201007504705?pt=AU_Clothing_Merchandise_Media&hash=item2eccfb1d41&_uhb=1%C2'>
