  1. I've had one of these 6volt Carter P4259's in my 38 Dodge for several years. The coupe has always started right up so eventually all my cars will be sporting one of these. Got it on Amazon for $63.69 with free shipping. Mounted mine on the frame close to the gas tank and no pressure regulator.
  2. Really Nice Car !!!
  3. With those long running boards I'm going to guess that it was not always a flat bed.
  4. How much fuel in the gas tank ?
  5. Maybe that electrode is pinched in one of the #6 valves seats.
  6. Wow !!! A new roadside attraction. THE WORLDS LARGEST BALL OF STICKERS.
  7. Nice job Jim ! I guess the choke and throttle cables don't work with this carb eh ?
  8. Thanks Don ! A copy is now hanging on my garage wall.
  9. Seems like a good deal !
  10. Jim, Send me the photos and I'll post them for you. Reg
  11. I just installed another head on my '39 Chrysler flat 6 that had been milled .050. The compression increased 13% from the original readings so I'm wondering is there is a rule of thumb or formula to determine what that increase did to the 6.5 compression ratio or HP rating ?
  12. I just installed another head on my '39 Chrysler 241 that had been milled .050. The compression readings increased 13% compared to the original head. Is there a rule of thumb or formula for how this affected the original 6.5 compression ratio or HP rating of 100 ?
  13. The flathead 6 engine number page says the IND5A is a 23" 218. For some reason I can't copy/past the link here and I also can't use the quote function. Anybody know why ?
  14. Google Flathead Six Engine Numbers.
  15. Well shoot ! I'd like to vacuum time my '39 Chrysler 241 but the only vacuum port is off the carb for the vacuum advance. It has electric wipers What's a shade tree mechanic to do ?
  16. Congrats Merle and Michelle !!!
  17. janan; you a funny guy !!! Actually, I wouldn't pay to get rid of my present wife........ but was very happy to pay a bundle to get rid of the previous one.
  18. Well, I went ahead and re-used those smaller head bolts and installed a Spitfire head I've had around here for years. It was milled .050 and after doing a compression test the new cylinder readings average 13% more than the old head. Original head averaged 92psi and new head averaged 104. I think I'll have the original head milled too but .070 instead of .050. Here's an after photo of the Spitfire head. Next .....dual exhaust.
  19. Maybe it'll settle down more after the front bumper & brackets, grill, lights, etc are installed. Is the radiator in and full of water ? After they are installed then you can jump on the bumper as Don suggested
  20. Mine from 2006 are radials.
  21. No Don.......that was my wife !
  22. Here are my Diamond Backs from Dec. 2006. $871 to my door. A light spray of purple power and a Motor Home brush maybe twice a year. This car lives in the garage 95% of the time away from UV rays. No cracking on the white or black rubber. They look new still.
  23. I've got my fingers crossed for ya too !
  24. That's a good idea Tim ! All 3 of my loose heads look like this one that I had .050 removed. Guess it's time to remove the head off my 241 to compare.
