  1. Chrysler Turbines over yonder
  2. classic used cars over yonder...we had one of these in town when I was growing up, same worn relics on the lot for years, weeds growing up through the pavement under the wheels, I don't recall the guy selling anything but on a nice day he'd sit out front of the office smoking a cigar

  8. How hot do the batt.cables get? I had original 0 cables on the '49 that looked ok, rebuilt starter dragged in the truck but bench tested fine, engine could be turned over with 30 ft-lbs on crank nut...on a hunch, I split open the cable insulation at their midpoint to find the copper strands black with oxidation, which was driving the starter circuit impedance sky-high. I made some new 0 cables, and that starter really came to life...you might be in the same boat
  9. If it ain't right here, then it must be over yonder
  10. From what I have heard, the quality problem with outsourced parts is the American company specifies what they want, the chinese/indian mfgr agrees but then supplies whatever they want, then the American company is faced with rejecting lots and not making sales or selling poor quality and hoping the next lots get fixed. I ran into this recently with Farmall parts marketed thru Bates Corp, they were working to fix this but admitted they were selling stopgap parts that were better than nothing. When I needed new rotors for the 01 Blue Bomber, every source, Mopar included, had Chinese parts...better than nothing, but not very comforting. So as with many other things in this world, whenever I work on something, I keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best

  22. Different volumes in combustion chambers will have different compression ratios, which will cause an imbalance of power being generated which leads to a rougher running engine...not as bad as having a miss, but vibration issues can lead to premature internal wear and a buzzing sensation throughout the undamped portions of the vehicle
