  1. Since your working in that area of the engine nock out the old freeze plugs and replace them. Try to flush out the crud ( rust and sediment) that has settled between the cylinders in the water jacket. Chances are the freeze plugs are about rusted and close to pinholed anyway. good luck

  3. we got a dusting of snow in northwest new mexico. They are opening the ski slopes in colorado now.
  4. I think I will try it just cuzz I can and I have a good radiator. I will solder the inlet solid and get a necked inlet off another radiator I have and see what happens. thanks everyone.
  5. Could you take a cross flow radiator from about a 71 chevy and mount it sideways in my dodge and make it work. The fill side of your radiator would be on top . Will this cool ok??
  6. Is the old water pump shaft the same length? maybe you can put a puller on the pump flange and scoot it out.
  7. I hauled my B2B home with a trailor and my 93 nissan 4x4. It followed me all the way.

  9. Get some regular press in wheel studs and push them in from the insides. You mite have to drill the threads out some but that sounds the easyest. I haven't herd of any screw in studs.

  12. The pin holes in the tank means it's probly thin and will be hard to braze. Go to napa and get a epoxy patch kit. It is a simple epoxy and fiberglass cloth patch works great should be cheaper than a welder. good luck
  13. You shouldn't have hurt the truck hooking da battery up backwards. Later you mite need to polorize your generator. Clean lookin old truck. good luck and don't be scared to ask stupid questions. We all ask them when we don't know.
  14. I had a pilot house someone put a volare front end under it. They spliced the frame under the cab and used the volare discs and power sterring. They also used the volare rrend. It ran good and sounded real good.

  16. Hi Hank. Water glass or liquid glass is sodium silicate. It's waater soluble and in sulution when it leaks out a pin hole in your radiator ir turns back to the solid state and plugs the hole. It kinda looks like a hard water stain on the radiator.

  18. Take that truck and hang a maniquin arm out the front. That would look cool.
  19. clean the area with muratic acid then solder . Or drain all your anifreezre out of it. Flush with clear water. run the moter and get it hot after filling with water. . Add water glass to it and let it curculate. After it seals replace the anti freeze. You can get water glass at your local pharacey.
  20. I was told IH put rolls royce engines in there trucks for awhile. Maybe that's why there expensive to rebuild.
