Roberts moter parts .com is a good place to find your master cylinder. they also have your weather stripping. check them out. That MT should take a 1 1/4 rebuild kit. easy fix if things aren't pitted. good luck
Can you use the amp guage if you use an 12 volt alternator?? I was going to use a delco off a chevy. On a delco I know you run the battery wire directy to the battery. the two plugged in wires one goes to a switch to turn things on and off. Can the white wire run to an amp guage??? thanks
Just hook another 6 volt in series and you have a 12 volt. That is you attach a cable between your positive and neg terminals. Thats how I did it on my old JD D.
Where can you get the trim that goes along the edge of the new door panels? The little c channel type trim. I've been lookin alover town and cann't find any. What's it's proper name ? thanks
look for item #330378545304 nice looking 49 looks like maybe a B-1-C exprees maybe. 4speed, looks like a radio, 5 window, San Antonio ,Texas Take a look
The 39-47 dodges used wood cross pieces they didn't have the metal ones like my 49 B1B.On my 46 I put the oak cross's and then plywood with the metal strips . Find some oak or if the composite will hold the same load use it. I don't think you will be hauling anything to heavy in it. lugnut
In my old truck B-1-B I used a piece of 2x2 wood to push the starter. It was in the truck when I got it and it didn't take me long to figgeer out what it was fore.
Well I started somthing. My daughter in Kansas decided she was going to get married so I ( not thinking clearly) fixxed up an old 46 half ton chevy I had an gave it to her for her weddin. I didn't beat the dents out but it cleaned up real good with fresh paint. So then another daughter decides to get married an says dad I want a pickup. There goes my B-1-B fresh paint and all. Now i gotta fix up my dodge 46 half ton and a dodge B-3-C so I got somthing to go tomcattin in an go to the dump. lugnut
I put a duel output master cylinder on my 46 dodge pu. I am still using the original drumbrakes. I plumbed everything on the output into one line. I made an adapter to bolt it to the bellhousing. You have to adjust the plunger on the original foot petal to fit. It stops the old truck fine. Sooner or later I will put discs in front an a Dakota rear axel.. It still has the original 6 and 4 speed in it. lugnut
I sprayed a dry silicon lube to the tracks where the glass slides. It drys and isn't sticky so the dust won't stick. All the gears and bottom slides lube with oil or lite grease.
I poped the top off thr tranny and no oil in the tranny. I got the shifter to workin and put some tractor hyd/tranny fluid in it an it shifts great. I'll change that oil to GL4 after I run it a bit. The front brakes are stickin now so I'll pull da hubs an take a look. lugnut
I have a B-3-C maybe the C means it's a 3/4 t. Maybe if it was a 1/2ton it would be a B-3-B ?? The transmission on this tthing will only shift between 3rd and 4th gear. I was thinging of poreing 2 gallons of diesel in the top of the tranny and lubing things up. Any ideas???
Does this site have a data base so I can check the serial numbers??
thanks everyone lugnut
both tranny are 4 speed but the one is just behind a regular clutch. I was trying to shift the tranny wallago an I could only get it to shift into one gear. I think I will pull the top on the 4 speed. I bet the shifty forks and rails are rusted or stuck. from setting. lDoes the 51's have lug nuts this one does. My 49 had lug bolts and not nuts. thanks
