How about a couple of aftermarket gages permanently mounted on the firewall in the little bezel they have for under dash mounting. Handy for anytime you're working on the engine to see the temp, oil pressure and amps anyway.
Other than the roof is too flat, it's OK. I wouldn't buy it, or build it, but I've seen worse.
I look at these as works of art rather than transportation. Someone's interpretation of what might have been. The problem for us car guys is the we see a collision between an old Merc and a Chevy, not a "vision". Just parts.
I doubt any good cars were ruined, maybe two were saved from the shredder.
Vive la difference.
Arctic blizzard coming in as I write this. Blowing snow, whiteout, zero visibility, very very slippery roads.
And it's just the beginning More snow overnight as well.
Minus 20c for a daytime high by Monday.
Happy Happy Joy Joy
EDIT! It's here!!!!

Here's a Rhino application to a first gen Bronco
The prep primer:
Finished:
They use primer on older surfaces to guarantee bonding. No air/moisture will ever get under the Rhino to the metal to rust again and this stuff will never come off like our original undercoat did.
If you use rattle can boxliner on a "used", use the correct primer.
Nice to know your making some good progress though, Joe. Better to solve these problems now that after it's in the car.
And...you'll be an expert when you're done.
The "French Canadian" DeSoto would be the same as the Canadian DeSoto. Same country, just a different province(same as your "state") with many French speaking residents.
Today, French is an Official language...back then it was not.
Welcome back, Allan. Glad to see the employment thing is lookin' up for you. The car will sit patiently where it is waiting for you to come take it home.
You should just go into politics, you're in the right spot for it. Then you could requisition a Herc. to go bring the car home in style!!!!!
This time of year, we are lucky...no rain at all for sure!!!
We do, however, get snow. None yet but could be a blizzard any minute.
Oh, ya...we get 30-40 below as well.
Enjoy the rain!!!!
This gasket kit:
Contains this type of gasket with the hole for the bypass...the little "bump" at the front, ahead of the line of head bolts:
The bypass ho;e is the furthest right hole on the above gasket...some have it and some do not. If you have that hole in your block (see below for comparison engines), the above gasket is the one you need. If you do not have that hole you need the other part number you quoted.
The Gasket WITH the hole will work on a non by-pass engine if you trim half of the "bump" off:
The top engine here doesn't have the bypass, the bottom engine does have the bypass. These are both long block Canadian 251 blocks
Hope this helps...

What make is the car behind the SHEINS EXPRESS truck? Looks the same as the one closest partially out of frame. Checker Cabs?
EDIT>>>A check of Google street veiw of this location today shows nothing left of the buildings in this picture, but explains all the cabs. This is directly in front of the Radio City Music Hall This picture looks to have been taken from the canopy above RCMH main doors. I wonder how many celebs are leaving the Hall in those cabs???
While we don't have many auto wreckers left around here...new or old cars, the problem with trying to sell a yard that's old is the environmental hoops that a new owner faces that a "grandfathered" owner didn't have to face.
That expense alone makes selling or buying an older yard a financial nightmare.
It all comes down to money, and I guess crushing onsite is the most economical way to go.
Heartbreaking nonetheless
If a current, "grandfathered" owner is planning to sell a few years down the road, they should start bringing everything up to "code" now.
There's a worse one I didn't watch or post...search "Pearsons" on Youtube or look in the list to the right of this video. It's so bad it's a two parter...a cliffhanger I guess.
Beware...it'll cause nightmares.
