What I did when I put the new seat (out of a Dodge Aries) in our 48. We made a frame riser, then I put the seat all the way back on the tracks then placed it where it was right for me. I then had my wife try it to see if the seat would move up enouf for her to use the cluch.
I then drilled new holes and bolted it down using the bigest washers I could find at our local hardware store.

You can check with It's_Heaven_in_a_47, he just put up a thread about getting his engine rebuilt. I think that Arthur1947 had his rebuilt in the Victorville area.

Normspeed, That show is all weekend and a lot of people stay and camp for the weekend, there were 5-6 teardrops there. The paint job is still cracking and bubbling. I will take the paint off the car myself after I retire (45 days), and then worry about paint. We have a friend who says that he will teach me how to paint. I did not have to pay the shop.

I had mine boiled out at the same time I put a new water dist tube in. My 48 P15 stays between 170-190 with the outside temp at over 100. When we left the car show last Saturday the temp was 108, the water temp in the 48 stayed at 180.

Normspeed, What do you mean, we used to call Fontana, Felony Flats. We still do.
Could be some chop shops operating out that way, Could be? Fontana PD busted a guy last month that had a better map of Fort Irwin than I do.

I took my engine out, as there is one right behind the steering box. Then drove a self taping screw into the plugs and pried it out with a pry bar hooking onto the screw head. We then but the power washer nozel in all of the holes and plasted it untill the water ran clear. Then I used a socket and hammer to put the new plugs back in.
