  1. Agreed! A well built brake system will perform...get this...the way they were designed to. I have been more than impressed with my Plymouth's drum brakes. I've had numerous people comment about how well it stops as I'm not bashfull while driving it. Glad to hear about your brake building abilities. Great job! BloodyKnuckles
  2. I love you man! (...in a beer commercial kind of way!!) BloodyKnuckles
  3. '51 Plymouth '54 DeSoto BloodyKnuckles
  4. Don, That's hillarious!! Welcome to the south. It's just about that quick here in Charlotte. Pete, You have enlightened many-a-minds with your car over the years. I have enjoyed you posts and pics but I feel confident that you will not dissapoint anyone with your future endevors. Good luck! BloodyKnuckles
  5. Didn't know about it but would love to go. Let me know when. BloodyKnuckles
  6. Here you go; BloodyKnuckles
  7. Lou, Your car is awesome. I absolutely love it. Can't wait to see it back together. On a side note, I'm going next week to look at a fastback '52 Dodge. BloodyKnuckles
  8. Geez, maybe I should read my own post first. No port holes. If I did it would have to be 6 on one side! BloodyKnuckles

  10. Bill, I'd be more than happy to lend you mine for a while. I picked mine up off of e-bay in case you're lookin for one. Let me know. BloodyKnuckles
  11. Yeah, I'm actually cutting them off in front where they start to make the bend to head toward the rear and adding removable caps. I do like them but I'm looking to "hot rod it down". I want it to be a classy custom in every sense of the word. I am planning on '51 Buick trim on the sides that will tie-in to the original rocker stainless. With that additional trim the lake pipes look like too much. I'm sorry I didn't respond to your question earlier but I just now realized you were asking a question, duh! BloodyKnuckles
  12. Yes. Only the roof for now. I've considered doing a different color top but I think it'll stay black. BloodyKnuckles
  13. Just an update. We ran into an alignment problem on the rear window that Brent squared away in 15 minutes, it's amazing what talent can accomplish. My buddy Mike at Early Rods & Customs is doing all the metal finishing. He wants a very thin skim coat of body filler therefor he's taking his time banging, stretching, shrinking, heating and banging again. He is doing a fantastic job. He plans on having it primer next weekend. Now I need to focus on getting my glass cut. Very excited. BloodyKnuckles
  14. Coker Classic bias plies on stock '51 Plymouth wheels, no tubes and over 15,000 miles. The only thing I had to do was install oval brass valve stems. I'm not sure what year they started to incorporate the "safety" bead into the wheel construction but the '51 and my wife's '54 DeSoto has them. I love my tires. BloodyKnuckles
  15. I love your car! It looks great. The side profile of these cars is just classy. Nice work. BloodyKnuckles
  16. Yes, they are from a '56 DeSoto front grill. They are the turn signal pods. BloodyKnuckles
  17. Thanks alot guys. Here are 2 more for you; I'm working with a good friend of mine who's doing the paint and some touch-up on the body. He's also the one who is doing the stainless trim for the sides. BloodyKnuckles
  18. For now just the roof and other areas that need touched up will go back to black. Next winter I plan on doing the whole body and interior. I still don't know what color to paint it. Probably black again. I need to enjoy the car this season.
  19. They are 1956 DeSoto grill turn signal pods. Thanks, BloodyKnuckles
  20. A mechanical fan will always out perform an electrical fan in volume of air. I removed my mechanical fan on one of my vehicles and replaced it with an electrical and always had temp problems and did not notice any power difference. Hope this helps. BloodyKnuckles
  21. Greg, No problem man, I just wanted people to be aware of what to expect if they choose to go this route. I'm glad he's getting better. You can only get better the more you do something. So, best of luck to Moose. BloodyKnuckles
  22. Thanks Greg and Don. I wish I could take all the credit but I owe alot to Brent (Fatman Fabrications Owner) for taking his time and being patient with me to turn out such a nice product. He really went out of his way to please me. BloodyKnuckles
  23. Well, Brent is done with his part and he did a great job. I love it. Now it's off to BigO's shop for the body work and paint. Here you go; BloodyKnuckles
  24. If you're talking about the one running on the course without the hood, that was me. ""knuckles.....I too had to do some work on my intake after I got it back from Moose, and I'm still not done. But I was prepped for that when I looked at the pics on his website. All in all he was good to do business with and I can appreciate his work for what it is.....a decent foundation for me to get my motor looking and performing how I want it to look and perform. I'm sure you've probably forgotten more about fabrication than I've ever learned. So I'm happy that I was able to get such a good start to making my motor what I want it to be. Your motor does look great and has definitely provided me with some inspiration to get mine looking good"" Moose was very good to do business with. Here are a few pics of how I did my linkage; I'll try to find some close-ups on how I did my fuel lines. BloodyKnuckles
  25. Thanks for the compliments. I have to admit, Moose did build the basic intake from my design. I was excited during the construction but when I received it, it wasn't quite what I thought it would be. I had to do extensive (emphasize extensive!!) reworking and significant cosmetic repairs. I consider myself a pretty good fabricator but I had no idea where to start when building an intake. I am glad I had him build it for me but after I saw the simplicity of it I know I will build a different one at some other time. It's hard for me to give credit to the manufacturer of a product when I'm the one who takes the time to make it look good. I'm trying not to bash moose by any means but I paid alot of money for a basic product that then took significant time to fine tune it to where it is today. I hope you can understand and respect my harsh statements. I spent too many hours on my engine to make it look the way it does for someone else to get the credit. BloodyKnuckles
