  1. It's getting close!! BloodyKnuckles
  2. Everything you're saying sounds great but please don't ever refer to it as a RR. It could never be one. Just do what you are going to do but don't let trends get in the way of a nice car. Just my thoughts. Keep us posted. BloodyKnuckles
  3. Please don't Rat Rod it. It won't benefit you doing it. It won't look good either. I think with a little elbow grease you'll have a great mild custom. Lower it, wide whites and full hubcaps and that car will get more looks than a RR would in a lifetime. Rat Rod is a horrible term. Great cars BTW...They will look amazing when you get them done. 4. Bill, This is a damn big swap meet! It's the whole inside of the speedway and the outside rear is full also. It is huge! I find stuff for Plymouths alot. This is mainly old parts. They also have plenty of clubs showing their cars and the track itself is where all the cars are for sale. Here is my number for those who would like to contact me; 704/239-1112 BloodyKnuckles
  5. This is what I posted on the HAMB but wanted to extend the invitation to my extended family; The Iron Lords, myself, Hotdamn, Jeffery James, Jeremy James, BigO, Sinticket and Cyco Mofo would like to openly invite any and all HAMBers that are attending the Charlotte Auto Fair from 4/2-4/5 at the Lowes Motor Speedway to our Club Shop on Saturday the 4th from 5:00 till ??. We would like for everyone to come out and enjoy an evening of good food, good drink and even better stories. We have a shop located approximately 1 mile from the speedway. If you know where Dennis Carpenters is you will find us. So if you are interested in popping in please let us know so we can plan accordingly. The address is; 3318 Bogle Street Concord, NC 28027 http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu86pvc...6gid1=13194423 I hope to see a few Plymouth owners there!! BloodyKnuckles
  6. Unfortunately I don't have a timing tab on my timing cover so a timing light won't work but I can use a vacuum gauge. Where should I hook it up? At the VA? BloodyKnuckles
  7. What is the best way to check the vacuum advance? BloodyKnuckles
  8. So far the only thing I really did that day was adjust the timing. That day on the way home it still popped through the carb. I just got done driving it for about 3 hours and not one pop, not one! What in the hell?? BloodyKnuckles
  9. Guys, I really appreciate all the help. I removed the cap and inpected it. There were no signs of cracks or build up on the electrodes. The rotor looks good also. Not sure about the points though. They look like like the have a light colored powder on them. I'm not sure if that's normal. I also adjusted the timing and it eliminated some of the popping. I may try some sort of "mystery" oil too see if there is a stuck valve maybe it'll work it's self loose. Thanks again, BloodyKnuckles
  10. Thank you guys for the responses. I will look into the cap and rotor first. I have put over 28,000 on them since I replaced them last. I will replace them anyway. I'll also look at the point gap and coil wire. Randy, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I do appreciate your input. BloodyKnuckles
  11. I drive my car alot...alot. So I've been expieriencing backfiring through the carbs more and more lately. It happens when it wants to not just under load. It can be winding out and begin to pop, lugging in 3rd it'll pop or just normal driving it'll pop. So what could be causing this? Is it possibly the vacuum advance? Timing? Points? What?? Any bit of guidance here would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting ready for another long distance run to Austin, Texas in a month and would love to get this thing running right again. BloodyKnuckles
  12. This info is need for a friend of mine. I know this has probably been covered a bunch of times but I was unable to find the info I needed with the search button. He has a '54 Plymouth that he would like to put an automatic behind. If possible he would like to put an auto with OD. He is on a budget like the rest of us so a direct bolt in would be great. What auto trans will bolt right up? What OD trans will bolt up with adapters? I'm not up on my automatics but I feel this would be pretty good info for others. Any bit of help would be appreciated. Thank you, BloodyKnuckles
  13. Pete, You know better! That will never be a RR but others will want to call it one. I think it's a great work truck with nice wheels. Perfect! BloodyKnuckles
  14. I know buddy! I'm just jerkin' yours. Custom Rat Rod...You're getting closer..... BloodyKnuckles
  15. Don knows everything! He calls this one a Rat Rod; Myself, I dislike the term but have learned to not let it bother me. Everyone wants to build a RR because they think it's "cool". It seems to cover any vehicle with paint that's not perfect and wide whites. It really becomes annoying after a while. I kind of think it's fading in popularity though. Rest in piece. BloodyKnuckles
  16. What's a Desota? I believe you posted pics of DeSoto's and might I add fantastic photos!! Thank you taking the time. BloodyKnuckles
  17. Here's one for you; It blew me away(...no pun intended)! BloodyKnuckles
  18. I agree with Bobby Horne but I use a Brake Cleen nozzel. It is the easy way to paint chassis parts quickly and thick. I do this alot and many of my friends think I have stock in black spray paint and Brake Cleen! Another tip; I only use the $1 black paint and the flat black is my choice of color for chassis and hard parts. Heres the tip! Pick up some tire foam and before a show spray your flat black items and it will look like you spent hours detailing and it will take maybe 5 minutes!! This works for me. I spray down my whole engine and actually wipe off some of the excess and it looks pretty damn good. Easy! BloodyKnuckles
  19. With Don's recommendation, I used Tennessee Clutch and couldn't have been happier. Price and time was incredible. Thanks Don. Highly recommended!! BloodyKnuckles
  20. I thought it was pretty cool also; BloodyKnuckles BTW...Jim Yergin, of all the ones I have seen so far (here and on the HAMB) your's has been the most authentic. Awesome!
  21. HAR,HAR,HAR....and no! BloodyKnuckles
  22. I hate you. BloodyKnuckles
  23. I don't want you to call me! I told you that! BloodyKnuckles BTW...you have mail.
  24. Don't call me. BloodyKnuckles
