  1. My Dad always just switched sides with the handles. Don't know if that works, but he said he did that one his first P15. And that was one his Dad bought new.
  2. I don't know if anyone had stated this or not, but get the drive shaft, and follow all of the wiring off the transmission and pull the relay off the firewall and kickdown switch off the carb. I put an OD out of a '54 into my P15. It was a chore, but it was basically a bolt in.
  3. I work with the Developmentally Disabled who are no longer served by the public school system. At it for 22 years, straight out of college. Where my nerves are slowly being "abraded". Tough part of this job is dealing with some of the the general public who are really (forgive me) idiots.

  6. I drilled out and threaded a cue ball.
  7. Before I mount my tires/tubes, I want to derust the inner spokes, they are kinda rusty. Seems previously that duct tape was used as a liner over them. And the tape held moisture(or it crept in). Should I sand blast gently with glass beads? Use gel rust remover? Or the battery charger mythod?
  8. Any of you guys been reading about this? Think It will work? Or something that will look like crud in about 6 weeks. Googled it and guys seem to say it is pretty good combo. Any thoughts?

  10. My plymouth did the same thing. tune up with high quality cap rotor(No aluminum) wires etc cleaned it up.
  11. Thought about the duct tape too. Sounds cheap and up to the job.

  13. Run the wire thru it so you can find the plugged spot(s) to know where to heat.
  14. I just did this. I REMOVED the line, it was on a 49 ford truck, and made sure all the raw gas was out of it. Then took a propane torch and heated the line carefully to soften the gas that had turned to varnish. I then ran a stiff wire thru it and next, put a speedometer cable into it and ran it thru with a drill. Took awhile, but gas now goes thru it.
  15. Do I need to put a liner in my wheels to keep the tubes from abrading?
  16. There is a yard east of Lincoln. East O street. About 6 miles east, I think. Guy knows what he has, but I needed the stuff for a '68 Continental.
  17. you fellows with the wires, do you have a hard time getting the center caps off? i snapped a couple on my wheels before they were mounted. i had to go in from the back and depress the tang to get them off. talk about a tight fit. Bob, how do they fit on your wheels? anyone else? i hate to crack the pot metal or screw the edges up, as the as they have just been dipped and are in nice driver condition.
  18. watch Ebay for vintage 12 volt dash fans. I picked up a 6 volt for my 48' dodge truck prettty reasonable ($20). it works but needs house cleaned

  21. My Mom used to get really pissed at my Dad for spending money on cars and stuff. She still does to a degree, but she said at least I know where the money and your Father are at.
  22. The unit is to bulky for snaking around the car floor. Have one similiar to it. The hose from a shop vac manuvers alot easier.
