  1. I believe the place is Zhejiang Shangyu, not far from Shanghai. If you want to place a large order, you can have your company name, and "made in the USA" on the boxes .
  2. My wife and I put a few miles on the 38 today. My speedometer works but not the odometer, so do not know how many miles. Cruises 30 to 40 MPH very good. I will have to put on a muffler soon. Has exhaust pipe all the way to the rear bumper, but no muffler. Car ran 140 degree on a 60 degree day. I need to install a thermostat for sure. The 3 speed trans is very difficult, but will do until I install the 5 speed Ranger trans. I am amazed how well the car rides, and steers with the original suspension.
  3. And one leg girls work at "I hop"...
  4. When working on my 48 Dodge brakes, I hooked the wheel cylinder to my 37 master cylinder on the work bench. A couple of pumps and the piston would push out.
  5. Some of the worst drivers are the ones that drive like "Mr. Magoo". I have a Aunt, and another friend that are very scary to ride with, that drive in that manner.
  6. Great photos Capt Fred. Weather still very nice here in Virginia.. I got my heater working ok for the cold weather coming soon.
  7. Today, I used a shop vac hose for the heater to the defrost vent. On the 38 the defrost vents are very small, problably 1.75 inch.
  8. Great project Bob. A friend of mine has a 51 Chevy 4 door, he is going to paint today. I was thinking of cutting my 90 Chevy "many van", (15 passenger) similar to what you have done.
  9. I seen in a Street Rod magazine years ago of using the 38 spindles with the aid of a bearing adapter ring, using aftermarket Mustang II rotors/disk .
  10. I installed my heater today. I used a 12 volt to 6 volt reducer to run the fan. It only has 1 speed.
  11. Sorry, my typing is not as good as my solder repair. The repair held up under 5 lbs of pressure all night.
  12. I have not had any solder in many years, had no buy new.
  13. I have not done any copper plumbing repairs in many years. Today I bought some new solder and repaired the small leak in my 38 heater core. There was a steel plug in the core that leaked and would not come out. I drilled a hole in the plug, put in a brass bolt as a plug, from a toilet, soldered around the plug, and there seems to be no luck this evening.
  14. That photo is of the back side of the heater. The heater has a black cover box, that I plan on painting flat black, so it may look ok.....
  15. When I first got my 48, it had low profile tires on 14 inch wheels. 195/65 x 14, 23 inch high. The 15 inch tires I will be using are 26 inch high.
  16. I found a possible small heater for my 37. I have a "many van", former 15 passenger Chevy van. There was a second heater in the rear part of the van. The heater has a 3 speed van, holds 1/2 quart of fluid.
  17. Here is my bike tube tester. The heater core holds 1 quart of fluid.
  18. Worked on my heater from my 38 Coupe yesterday. I put in some vinegar/water solution the day before, 1 quart. I hooked up a water hose and flushed it out. I filled with water, attached a bike inner tube, added 5 lb of air pressure to check for leaks. Have 1 very small leak at the drain plug. I find a look of mud from the hornets in so much of my stuff I am working on. Spiders can clog up hoses also.
  19. No updates as of today. I have been cruising in the 38 with the old 3 speed. Sure wish the 5 speed was installed, but I will wait until this winter. The wife has kept me busy all summer...
  20. There are plenty of metal fuel filters available. I did a search on ebay for inline fuel filters, came up with alot of results. The ones with threaded ends would eliminate the need for rubber hoses and clamps. Some of these are listed as what NASCAR uses.
  21. My 38 Coupe is not all that pretty, but my wife and I really enjoy it. It moves along 35 to 40 MPH very good. I bought it in 1986 for $400.00..
  22. Great looking 36 with a soft top.
  23. Seen this bypass oil filter canister sold by Gulf Coast, marketed for big trucks. If not using the regular filters, one could use a paper towel roll.
  24. Also available is a dual tank for oil catching and coolant recovery, for only $650.
  25. I think the catch can would condense the smoke into a liquid, instead of the smoke going into the atmosphere, or back into the engine. One could drain the oil after so much time.
