  1. My wife said she would buy the $750 Compass for me if she hit the big lotto. I would feel like the luckest guy in the whole world, put the $750 Compass on my Red Rider BB shooter so I would know what direction to point it.
  2. I used a tube of silicon to form a gasket. I just ran a bead of silicon caulk, put on a layer of wax paper, and closed the vent. Open the vent the next day, and have no leak since. I put on a new vent drain hose also...
  3. You can buy the oil lines at about any auto parts store. This filter canister and many more on ebay...
  4. I would say the prevous owner must have took the filter system off, and plugged the oil lines. There are of plenty of filter canisters on ebay.
  5. "Wagon", that would make a great, "Ute", " El Camino"... Will make a great wagon too....
  6. That is great news, he is interested in a car project. Spending time on a project with family is one of the great enjoyments in life.
  7. Is the coil firing now?
  8. This diagram is from the Power-Wagon people.
  9. This is the diagram from post #11.
  10. In the 56 Dodge diagram, the ballast resistor appears to be connected in between the distributer and coil.
  11. I made a gasket from a sheet of cork I had bought from Advance auto parts. I put in a small plate on each side of the filter, one to bolt onto the original filter bracket, and another one on the other side. This is just a temporary filter until I do a real good cleaning of the original filter assembly.
  12. When I first got my 38 running the oil gauge barely worked. I took it out, cleaned the line to it, & cleaned the back of the gauge. It reads a steady 40PSI ever since. I probably had a little oil sludge in the line.
  13. Yes, chocolate chip.:)
  14. Got my 48 running again after cleaning the fuel pump, install new line from pump to carb, new line from small gas can to fuel pump. I quickly made an air cleaner until I take the time to clean the oil bath air cleaner. I used a cookie tin and a Fram air filter. It should work for the present time.
  15. I took the heater in my 38 all apart, repaired small leak, and painted. It works very good.
  16. That one is listed as, "Heater 1932, 33, 34, 1937, 1938, 1940," Ford, Lincoln I did searchs, Universal Heater,,,,,Vintage Heater,,,,,found very many... Here is a photo on another compact, "Universal Heater". I have a AC unit very similar to this one, that I took out of a Dodge Van.....
  17. Recently a friend of mine is retiring and ending his small engine repair service. He gave me a big box of lawn mower supplies that included a set of J8 plugs that look very similar to my J8C plugs I use in my Plymouth. There was a set of B6Y NGK plugs also, that states Replaces: NGK B6S, Champion J8C, Autolite 294. I do not know how long he has had these supplies, or where he bought his supplies......
  18. I believe J8s are what are in lawn mowers also....
  19. Good find. Lots of useful parts there....
  20. 38 was the last year for the leaf spring front end on the Plymouths. Those gasser cars look real cool, expecially a 41. I believe I have a front axle/springs from a 36 Dodge, if that would help, and you decide to go with a gasser look.
  21. Here is a photo of a "stock" Dodge breather, that is sold at Vintage Power Wagons, which may catch or condense some of the blowby smoke. Simply all I am trying to do is keep a little blowby smoke from under my hood, and the engine bay. My 36, 48, and 56 do not have heavy blowby, but do have a little blowby. I do not have flat screen TV of any size, but I do have flourescent bulbs that I do not use very much because I have sunlight piped into my shop....
  22. Happy Veterans Day 2011 to everyone, from the most popular guy in our Blackhawk unit 1969, (me, the mailman)...
  23. I use the Lucas treatment in my fuel, for all my vehicles, but not in every fill up. I do not "store" any of vehicles, car, cycle, mowers, for the winter. There is always a sunny day here and there to run them.....
  24. The very nice scenery brings out the blue of your car very nice.
  25. I seen this unit on ebay.
