  2. Suspense right from the get go, another great Kingsbury story, what a truly great family you have Tim, you are very fortunate.....Fargos-go-far
  3. The 1952 diff carrier( pumpkin) and axles may very well be 10 spline, the 1957 Diff would be 16 spline side gears and axle splines. This can be remedied but swapping the side gears off the 10 spline carrier. As mentioned a swap using a complete diff from a Jeep Cherokee, and other Mopar products is fairly straight forward and simple, you could get 3.23 or 3.55 gears, and modern bendix style brakes to boot....
  4. M6 semi-auto trans with 4 forward gears lo range 1-2, high range 3-4
  5. Hello, and welcome to the forum, sounds like you have been busy, and are off to a good start on reviving your truck. I would try searching all of your info requests, there is plenty of info on this website. For your diff, 4:11 gears are going to wind this old truck up fast, have you considered looking for a complete carrier with 3.73 or 3.55 gears. On my 1955 Fargo pickup, I have a late 1980s mopar 8 1/4 diff with 3.23 gears, makes highway cruising much nicer. The swaps are no that difficult, I do not have a parts suggestion, but hopefully someone will chime in....good luck

  7. Glad you were able to get out enjoy the Plym Wayne, this is what it's all about, and doing 45 mph is a lot faster than most of the P15s that left Detroit, San leandro, Windsor Ontario and whereever else they rolled off the assembly line..

  15. This is a special F head design, very expensive, in the 5-6k range, not sure how many were built. The modern day version somewhat synonymous to the Ford Flathead Ardun conversion although the Ardun was a complete overhead valve arrangement, where this Edgy design is an F head. a link to some interesting info on F heads... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/f-head-flathead-conversions-photos.732281/

  17. Really enjoyed this blog Tim, as well as the others. Did this engine get dynoed yet? I am curious to see what HP it is going to push out. What is your guess on a 1/4 mile ET and an overall top end speed? Hope to see a blog in spring with you driving this ole girl, and givin her some throttle....LOL
  18. Hope it was helpful to you Neil. The Canadian Mopar Cars form 1946- early 49, employed this same universal joints for all PDDC. This would have been the case for all 3 spd standards, 3 spd standards and fluid drive, and the M5/6 trans and fluid drives. The US built Chryslers used the wing style caps on their Chrysler U-joints. Canadas, are simple, readily available and cheap to buy.
  19. Good Luck, in a job well undertaken. Carl Jungs "Synchronicity" luck or exact science. Either way, take your time and do a thorough and correct job....
