  2. Hey hope all is well with you Guys too, when does the new web format take place?
  3. Hey all sending greetings from Ottawa Canada, temp is 64, better than the 10f and snow /ice back home in Manitoba. Here on business., only saw 2 vintage cars, and no Mopars....Fred
  4. Thanx for the advice Ralph, banties can't free range here I have 2 dogs, so in a coop/run, and maybe out to free range under my supervision only. You know once winter sets in I prefer snow to stay, found out last year what happens when it melts then freezes, lost trees and perennials, lucky septic field did not freeze....
  5. Had a last drive, well might take some short stretch the wheels in winter, but the car drives and runs great, and is toasty warm. 2 pics of my gettin back home, forgot camera for the drive.... ps I think I only drove 200 or 300 miles this year, pathetic huh. OT PS, anybody on this forum raise Bantams, supposed to get some of these, another obsession to get involved in.....cheers 1 other thing, right where the car is sitting in the pic, at 6:30 am on Sunday morning, a Timber Wolf(100 pounder) was there, my 2 dogs went nuts. They chased after this wolf, and my Golden Retriever got a bite in the back leg, just 1 puncture. That night 3 0r 4 were howling, but no more visits since....
  6. Hey that's great Ed, remember taking mine out at that age. Tonight I went "trick or treatin", with my 2 youngest, had a blast, I actually got a lot of candy, not sure why, had to be the oldest out at age 51........LOL
  7. Happy Halloween, hope your night was very sacrrrrrry.........The Rockwood
  8. Hey Joe, my Niece, Her Husband and 1 child in Westchester Pa, they slept in the basement last night. They are originally from Winnipeg, He works for the Philadelphia Phillies.
  9. Welcome back Bob, hope all is going well in your world, glad you are out burning gas in that 40...
  10. I would also make sure the rims are "true", before finishing them, been there, done that...
  11. Yup, its not for surfacing in the sense of final blocking and wet sanding, it is a major high build, then you block, and shoot on say a good 2k urethane primer surfacer.... ps like spraying body filler or glaze, then its time to primer over it and block to perfection
  12. There is even polyester filler primers out there, shoot with a big spray tip like say 2.0 to 2.2, you could bury 80 grit scratches like nothing, with 1 pass. I have heard of guys burying a quarter that was taped onto some panel for a test. This stuff kicks hard though, so you need to get the gun cleaned fast after shooting it. But for a wavy pitted scratched panel, could work great. I use 2k urethane high build primer, it blocks and wetsands very nicely....
  13. Hey you Guys, anyone purchase any of the sears compressors built from July 2003, until June 2011. Safety notice in effect, for compressor motors overheating. They send you out a free repair kit, i think they should recall all the suspect compressors, if they were smart. The following models are the suspected units. -30 gal vertical compressor 919-724300 -30 gal vertical compressor 919-724321/2 -33 gal horizontal compressors 919-724500 -33 gal horizontal compressors 919-724591 -20 gal horizontal compressors 919-724701 Call this number if you have 1 of the above units, 1-866-885-1877 I have a 30 gal upright unit, they work okay, but would not ever buy another oilless compressor again, too dam noisy.. __________________

  15. Hey TR, you and I have had very little "dialoque", on this forum, and I really have no problem keeping it that way too, if you like. I concur with RobertKB, in his statement that Tim Adams has helped many on this forum, with many different issues, myself included. I have had Tim, assist me in troubleshootng very difficult problems from 2000 miles away, with many emails, phone callls and questions. When I needed a honeycomb rad for my Coupe, Tim drove an hour from home to get me a rad, then tested it, and packaged it "par excelence", and shipped it to me in Canada. So don't be blowing smoke that Tim, is only giving lip service on the board. He is straight up, and is 1 of our most knowledgable Gearheads on this Website. I have said it before I will say it now, this is a "give and take" place, with a lot of old Friends, and lot of new members, we are a tightknit community, and you need to have a look at this, if you intend to hang here for a while. Not tellin you what to do, "just sayin"
  16. Good maybe he can give me advice on my 1910 Singer Treddle Machine...
  17. Hi Jim, you mention 50-55 idle when cold, how abut after the engine is good and warmed up, at speed and idle. Give us the numbers. In reality you need 10 psi for every 1000 rpm, to be on the safe side. These old girl generally drop oil pressure when they have some wear on em, especially with thinner viscosity oils.
  18. Got home from night shift, to get a phonecall from my contractor, to trench in water line to new well. I then disinfected old well, every pipe in the house, and made a 30 gallon batch of water and bleach. They pulled the pump, and it went in the solution, for 5 hours, cleaned it up, and all was well. What a huge mess in the yard in the trench area, but next spring will deal with it. even had a visitor from Duluth Minnesota hangin around, my contractor's Brother-in-law....
  19. I use the following, prep metal either sandblast sand, wirewheel whatever. Then acid treat bare or pitted steel, shoot on or roll, rusty metal primer, topcoat with Tremclad (rustoleum) semi-gloss or gloss black, rust paint. This has worked very well for me. I do not use POR15,Zero Rust, or Eastwoods, the elcheapo stuff has served me right...
  20. Jon if yall want Mohair, then we be findin you some Angora.....here ya go PS dust off the cobwebs of that foldin money holder, as this stuff is gonna cost ya, but if you have cheap labor behind the 8 ball, you are ahead http://www.lebaronbonney.com/fabrics.htm
  21. Hey Neil, I found some great prices on Rock Auto, but shipping price to at least Canada, is atrocious. I now buy 90% of all my parts at Piston Ring Stores, a Manitoba chain, I get shop prices. It helps when 2nd cousins own the entire outfit, which includes a big machine shop where engines and parts are rebuilt. The old folks started the business in Winnipeg in 1953...
  22. Try SMS auto fabrics http://www.smsautofabrics.com/ , but it won't be on the cheap, but they have a lot of OEM stock
  23. What year and model is "your car"? The diff ratio, will be stamped on the 3rd member(pumpkin), unless gears were changed internally. Mark 1 tire, mark drive shaft, rotate (roll) car, count revolutions on driveshaft to 1 revolution of the tire. IE tire rolls 1 revolution, driveshaft spins 4 times, diff is 4to1 or 4.00 gearing....Good Luck
  24. I think the opposite of reasonable is unreasonable Mikey, ain't hinting anything or nothing, "Just Sayin"....
  25. Keep looking, you may find 1 in a complete parts car or something. Another option is to go to a more modern diff, say a Mopar 8 1/4 with 3.23 gearing or better. I know this will not drop the rpm, and be as cool as the r10, but it will sure help you cruise at freeway speeds. A good combo might be a 4.10 diff, and the R10 OD trans, great bottom end, and OD for the highway....Good Luck, keep looking, there will be something out there
