  1. Yeah an old fart was driving. It was me. I turned 60 a little over a week before World of Speed so I figured I had that coming... drove every run with the right turn flashing. Not everyone got it. Good spotting.

  2. And the easy way around this issue (Attachment quota is full) is to create a personal photo gallery and post your pics in that location. When you want to use them in your posts click on the "My Media" button and you can easily add them to the thread.

  3. Deathbound puts it pretty succinct. But Calif is such a mess that you never know. Many friends have put near new engines in older cars and are pretty much flying under the radar. My heartfelt advise is be reasonable and responsible, and take some comfort that the miles you drive your "specially constructed vehicle" are a fraction usually accumulated by a daily driver. And finally, DON'T ASK ANYONE AT THE DMV OR CARB! That is a guarantee that you will be flagged with no rational way to resolve the issue.

  4. Adding to the OT smog question (& clarification on pflaming's response)...from the CA DMV site (other states will most likely be different): Does my vehicle qualify for a smog exemption? Smog inspections are required unless your vehicle is: Hybrid Gasoline powered 1975 year model or older Diesel powered 1997 year model and older or with a Gross Vehicle Weight rating (GVWR) of more than 14,000 lbs Electric Natural gas powered with a GVWR rating of more than 14,000 lbs. Motorcycle Trailer BTW....very nice looking wagon!

  5. Hope this helps. Luckily the core width of the Toyota rad is exactly the same as the PH one. Just remove the spot welded brackets and re weld onto Toyota rad. I realize the top hose should be centered, but you could move the inlet from the LH to center if you wanted.

  6. Most interesting "vehicle" for me was this 1948 worthington tractor. As you can see it appears to be made from either an entire cut down 41-47 dodge or Chrysler obtained parts. Flathead powered with truck trans. Unique gauge pod.

  7. If you can inspect the 360 and get any hints as to a recent rebuild then the $800 is reasonable. Machine shop labor is easily that much.

  8. With what Dave said in the later part of the 60's at the station we used a 1952 stock set up Dodge with the wrecker attachment to the back..that thing regularly pulled in about everything coming and going..it would have been going yet had the driver knew how to pull a school bus out of a ditch, it did the job but not without damage to the housing...(remember the if he knew how part)..but we popped another stock axle in there and business as usual..only one I ever remember seeing failed in my lifetime and that was pure stupid operator abuse..I remember it was my job to take the station's A100 van and scour the country looking for donor truck..found it about 19 miles away behind a barn...

  9. For those of you on facebook... I built a page for my daughter and I to use as a build log that our friends and family could follow along with our saga. I also thought it might be a great motivator knowing we had eyes watching us, waiting for something exciting to happen. https://www.facebook.com/Kaitlyns49Dodge
