Not sure Don..the local bubble pacs are just 4-5 items per bag and got a hefty price..I find the swap meet folks have the better deals...the thing to kee[p in mind on these old Plymouths..lot of special JACKSON screws are needed...

Ed..the Jackson screw is a number 8 body with a number 6 head....very common on our old Plymouths..etc...

If you put a 8 screw in the head looks so out of place..if you place the correct head in the recess it will not grip...thus you just identified the need for the Jackson screw..

... I went to Home Depot and OSH and ACE. I had to go to all three before I could find exactly the right sizes in Stainless. I figure I spent way over $20 worth of gas, time and energy. Wish he'd had the packets when I was looking!

Thanks Tim. I'm sure I've seen them and probably have them in a mixed box from Joe's shop but didn't know the name.

I dont know what areas there in, Cole's Do it center's, but the one here locally has been my best source for nuts, bolts, screws, etc. and they are in bin trays, not packs. Buy by the lb. or each.

I buy most of my stainless hardware from Totally Stainless. No web site, phone (717) 677-8811.

They list Jackson #8x3/4" at $0.16 each, and list lengths from 1/2" to 2".

I get Jackson screws from the local auto upholstery guy. He didn't know that was the name for them, but he knew exactly what they were. Upholstery shops often have many small drawers of "Auveco" (a brand name) fasteners. Thats where they live.

My local guy didn't mind giving me the 20 or so I needed along with those funny flush finish washers for free. He had many sizes in the bins.
