I'm going to the local pick and pull soon to hopefully find a set of 15" steel wheels so I can add radials. I'm keeping the stock 16"s wide the wide whites. I used to have a list of veicles to look at that would have wheels that should fit. I lost the list and haven't been able to find anything on the net. Does anyone have a list like this?

If you still have the original brake drums that have the protruding stud that helps locate the original 16" rims then you maybe restricted to mopar 15" rims, if the stud has been removed then Ford rims from 1949 on, Studebaker rims, Volvo rims apart from others I forget will fit, the only caveat is that some may have a smaller diameter hole in the centre that could restrict whether the rim will mate right up to the drum.........trust this helps, andyd,

You can also drill a hole in the rim for the alignment peg. I have a set of ford rims I did that to.

Chrysler continue to use these stud pin on up into the early 60's if I remember correct and later wheels have the holes smaller and evenly spaced around the wheel for hubcap center to bolt in and yes these wee still yet steel wheels not rallye style..one only has to enlargen one of these holes to retrofit to the early years. The last ones I used were from a 71 Plymouth if I recall..too many years and cars have gone by...just watch the back spacing and the added width of the more modern tire..think you will be ok for the rear but tie rod clearance may be an issue on the front.

The problem I'm going to run into is they only have late model cars. I do have a guy down the road with a ton of old cars in a junyard but he is thinks everything he has is gold plated.
