Hi guys..well been a while since i posted..had some bad luck lately..Gona have to sell my pride and joy 52...and all the parts i've bought...probably gona list on ebay in a while...I just got the engine back..complete rebuild all new parts..paid over 1500...also got the disc brake kit from charlie...new wiring harness and turn signal assyl..from YNZ's yesterday parts...all the new rubber and seals from Roberts...New Generator and brackets...and New good years and tubes.....and the list goes on....

Still debating on wether to sell c omplete or part it out including my new parts....any suggestions?

That's a good investment already in new parts. Can you post pictures of the truck body condition. What part of Southern California?

I'm out in the desert in china lake...about 80 miles from bakersfield. Very dry here...The truck was here all it's life..i bought from original owner..90 year old man...It sat covered in his yard the last 30 some years...he said he parked it when the engine started to smoke..that's why i had it rebuilt..The body is solid with no major dents anywhere..just a few dings here and there and No rust at all..Was planning doing everything but my plans changed...I hope these pictures upload ok if not email me and i can send you more if you're interested.

My B3-B truck has an IND 251 engine.I would like to ask for Reg Evans which kind of disadvantages he noticed running with this same kind of engine in his yellow truck.The correct type engine for the trucks are the serial number beginning with letter "T".Thanks.

Yes, I installed a Chrysler 251 in my truck. There aren't any disadvantages to running this engine unless more horse power is a disadvantage. Your engine being an industrial engine might have a non vacuum advanced distributor. If so,you would want to find a dist. with a vacuum advance.

NO ITSNOT A 251 ENGINE IT IS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP HOLES NOT BEING ALIGNED.

Hi Chucky 07.My B3-B truck has an IND 251 engine block which has too the fuel pump holes not aligned(lined up).I knew that IND means an INDUSTRIAL application engine,not for trucks or cars.I became frightened.Seeing the article by Eric Bannerman about many types of flat head six engines I knew that there are many 251 engines types,like T120(251c.i-for truck),T130(251c.i-for truck) and T150,T151.....all for trucks.Before read Eric Bannerman article,for me all 251c.i engines were the same IND application(251c.i=IND).It is not true.Do you understand my doubt?Today I still have another doubt that is "What type of engine has the two fuel pump block holes disaligned or not lined up?" :confused:

I've never seen a flat head 6 cylinder engine that had the mounting holes for the fuel pump lined up. The top hole is always closer to the front than the bottom hole. I just checked a 218, a 230, a 241, and a 251. All the holes are at the same "not lined up" arrangement.

Ok friend Reg Evans,you answered my question.Thanks.But I already saw a flat head six with mounting holes for the fuel pump lined up.This was a WC-...(weapon carrier) from WWII(1941).My B3-B green&black truck I have since 1987,its distributor is with vacuum advanced and runs well.My Jeep Willys MB 1942(four cylinders) is w/o Vacuum advanced.Congratulations for your Pilot House forum,it's very important to love more our Dodges.Regards.:)

Excuse me Reg,but I found this pic in the MOPAR PARTS LIST manual for Dodge Job Rated trucks Issued april 1954 in group 9-Engine,page 9-1,december,31 1952.I am seeing a mounting holes for the fuel pump lined up,what do you think?Regards.

Hey...very good Fernando! I hadn't seen one like that until now.

Does the photo say what this engine's displacement is? Is it a 251 or 265 or a larger block engine over 30" long with more than 300 cubic inches of displacement for a B-1-R, B-1-T or B-1-v series really big trucks?

This pic says R,T,V and Y.I don't know.Like I said to you I already saw the same in a T-207,1941,weapon carrier,WW II truck.I am trying to get a pic to show you.Good luck.:)

I've got lots of those lined up high volume fuel pumps and the big thing they attach to!
