greg g Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 MUSKEGO, Wis. (AP) — A television news truck became the news when it broke through the ice on Big Muskego Lake in this Milwaukee suburb. The driver of the WDJT-TV news truck who was working on a segment about snowmobile safety on ice took the vehicle about 150 yards onto an ice-covered channel Sunday when the ice suddenly gave way, Muskego police Sgt. John Mesich said. The driver, who was alone in the truck, mistakenly thought the ice over the channel was a road, the sergeant said. She was able to get out of the truck unharmed. In the driver's defense, the ice was covered in snowmobile tracks giving some credence to her belief it was a road. Quote

Fireball Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Looks like Floyd Cotterpin at Bonneville. I remember Bald Cuddlington also sunk there with his crew Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 I remember that story. It happened about a year ago. They got a good run over it. They even ran a bunch of adds poking fun at themselves about it. "Doing a story about the dangers of thin ice, then running the news van through the ice... Priceless" Muskego is about 10 miles south of me. Merle Quote
