Bob Riding Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 A number of us were looking for taillights for our Suburbans...this auction has a couple hours left and the price still seems reasonable. Plymouthy Adams Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 thanks......................I was looking at this bid..I hope I can do you a favor sometimes..this was why it is not nice to post an active bid...if a person is in search of an item..let him actively search for it..only person benefitting from a bidding war is the seller....is this your item? Bob Riding Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 No, I got lucky and found a pair last month from a guy who thought they were woodie tailights - paid $120 for the pair, but they are pristine. Bob Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 I saw those lights...nice but I was deep in couple other projects buying parts and had to pass on the price...I buy for a number of cars..about 10 of these old hoopies here at the house so maybe you can see my position on posting auctions..if I lose due to a low bid on my part so be it..but to drop an item in someones lap who was not actively looking..don't think it is right for I never know who is looking for what or what their e-bay names are...just my outlook.. mackster Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 I agree with Tim, it happenned to me at another forum and the price went up to three times as much since everyone and their momma bid on it!!!! so now I will never own this part. Quote
RobertKB Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Now you can buy it from Neil Riddle as seaplym bought it for $32.77 so expect to pay more than that for it. Someone coulda got a deal. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 I was a bit curt in my reply to Bob and for that I have personally apologized off line to him in a PM and will do so here also..his intentions were good...this subject has been brought here a few time..there are those that continue to post..I guess their cars are complete and just passing stuff on..but again..if a guy wants it, and e-bay is public..let them actively search it out... another pet peeve is the guy who just has to show his knowledge...by this I mean I have found parts listed wrong..not being bid on..and then last minute a guy says "Hey, that is for a such and such.." On this subject I have seen the item retracted and relisted at 5 times the amount...item lost...but oh well..another will come along I guess...just another items still on my list... Quote
oldmopar Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Have to agree with the idea of Not posting active auctions. However if you know someone here is looking for a item you could send them a pm. Quote
