55 Fargo Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Tim, never mnid the hammer, go and get an airnailer from the discount tool store. If I was close by I would bring mine and come over and give you a hand, as I am off this week myself, but the 2000 miles is a little too far. Today I bought the combination Brad Air Nailer and Stapler, take nails up to 2 1/4 inch long and staples to 1 1/2 inches long. It was from the Offshore Dicount store Princess Auto, bought it for $29.99 regular $59.99. Tried it out, works great, for the amount I will use it, should serve my purpose. Today I was also picking up MDF baseboards, had 14 footers on my Ranger truck, me and the 5 YO son went o Winnipeg to get them. On the way back the wind caught about 5 pieces and snapped them in half, still can use all of those pieces. Ity was about -35 or so in the Windchill today at noon, not sure why I picked a day like this to go get baseboards. But you know what Winnipeg City was a like a madhouse, people and traffic all over, evn in 30 below weather....................Fred Quote
PatS.... Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Fred..use this for framing..not worth much putting the tin on though...the Stanley Bostich coil nailer gets kinda heavy lugging around and lifting over your head...26 degrees..am not looking forward to venturing outside..but gotta do it anyway.. PS..got one of those combo finish guns myself..they are handy as can be for trim work..love shooting those coated staples..they grip like you read about... Tim, thats looking good...don't see white stuff on the ground, so that's a bonus. Is all that open area in the back yours? I hate to think how I would fill that up if I had it. We woke up to -2f this am and it will warm up to a high of 29f today and a heat wave of 33f tomorrow. Lots of white stuff on the ground:( I was in a new residential area here yesterday and the guys were all at work bundled up like the Michelin man, high temp yesterday was -2f Love those air nailers...like a kid with a new toy! I often wonder what my grandfather would have thought of them. He could drive in the biggest nail with two, maybe 3 whacks of the real hammer at 75+ years of age. Good luck with the building, Tim (is that Tim from Canada helping out?) Quote
Young Ed Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Tim I keep thinking this thread should be one short man....... Quote
