Norm's Coupe Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 We've been getting hit every weekend with around 4 to 8 inches of snow each time since the 3rd of December. Total of just under 30 inches for the month of December has fallen. Far from the record a few years ago of just under 50 inches for the month of December. One day a couple of weeks ago while cleaning out the driveway my neighbor said, "I'm fed up. Going to put a plow on my pickup. I'll charge $20 to clean the driveway for the neighbors." Knowing my neighbor, I thought he was joking and said. "Great, that sounds good to me." Then continued snow blowing the driveway. Forgot all about that conversation until this morning. This morning I look out the kitchen window (faces his house) and his pickup is sporting a brand new plow on the front of it. He's out there playing with his new toy, shoving the snow further back away from the ends of his driveway by the street. Don't know if he actually did his driveway. If he did, it was just for fun because all we got last night was a dusting, and it's almost gone now anyway. So.........think from now on when the snow gets to be about 6 inches or so, I'll ring his door bell and say, "Ok, have a good time and do mine now." Especially, when it's the heavy wet stuff. If anyone needed a plow it was him though. He also owns a duplex rental property and has to clean the snow there too. Looks like the year is starting off right. Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 "Great' date=' that sounds good to me." .[/quote']Sounds to me like you already have a gentelmans agreement. Lets see... 3 heavy snows per week equals sixty bucks. Sizteen more weeks of winter equals........... tad short of a grand. As I see it you could spand a grand and buy a plow for your P-15. Then your trips to the end of the driveway and back would be meaningful:D Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Don..that logic will not work with Norm..we have not seen how much labor rate he is going to add for his time to install or operate said device when in opertion...based on that will probably be pennies per snowfall.. Quote
JohnS48plm Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Norm, Keep that snow on your side of the lake. We have just an inch or so on the ground, the weather man says maybe 6 inches coming tonight. I have only had the snow blower out twice so far. JohnS Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted January 1, 2008 Author Report Posted January 1, 2008 Boy am I glad I stopped by when I did! I hate snow!!Happy New Year, to you and Mrs. Norm!! Thanks Bob, and Happy New Year to you too. This is what it looks like at my house now. Also Happy New Year to everyone else on the board. JohnS, Wish I could say the same. I've had my snow blower out at least 6 or 8 times during December. Supposed to be nice for the next week though. Supposed to be in the 30's through about Friday, then low 40's for the weekend. They claim it should hit 45 degrees this coming Sunday. That will feel like the middle of summer. Quote
JohnS48plm Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Norm, we're hearing 50 by next monday. I may have to fire up the coupe. JohnS Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Yea, Norm. I liked how that last show hung in the trees like that. It sure was a beautiful site around here. The warmer weather coming will be nice, but once the snow melts again, it'll look ugly 'round here. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 Merle, know what you mean. The snow is still like that at my house. Guess it's going to start warming tomorrow though, so it'll start falling off the trees, etc. Sounds like it could be a real mess with the warm temperatures. Now, they are predicting around 50 degrees for the weekend and rain. That will really create some ugly looking slop around here. Quote
