LarryF Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 I have a 51 cranbrook with the original 218 and transmission. I would like to change to a floor shifter so I can add electric power steering. Has anyone done this and can possibly share what shifter and modifications needed? Quote
QEC Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 There are some old threads detailing the quite unique shifter and, IIRC, someone had a sketch about building one. Start searching... Quote
LarryF Posted December 10 Author Report Posted December 10 Thanks. I tried searching before I posted. Maybe I will try different phrasing. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 years ago I bought a floor shifter for these old Plymouths from a member here. I kept it a bit and then sent it to a bud who was interested in duplication of the shifter and linkage. Some time did pass and this never materialized and he mailed it back to me. Later the guy who sold it to me called and we were talking this and that and the man asked if I would be so kind to sell it back to him. It is now with him and no word if ever put in a car. They are not easy to come, a smooth acting one is a bit complicated build. I looked in my archives and if I ever did photograph it, I have no idea now where those pics may be. Quote
bones44 Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 The link posted by Sniper (https://p15-d24.com/blogs/entry/133-floor-shift-concepts-for-mopar-column-shift-transmssions/) shows different transmission shift configuration. The one posted by Mr. Tim Kingsbury shows a Drag Fast conversion not a Fenton as stated. I know this because this is the transmission that I put in my D5 back in the"60". Just wanted to make a clarification on the subject. 1 Quote
Sniper Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 Thanks for the clarification I just posted two links I found after a real quick search I didn't go digging deep Quote
