Is there room to slide the wires one at a time into the loom?

Seems like I might have pried on the edge of the loom myself and slid the wires in that way.

Hard to remember what I did .... mine was basically junk and missing the mounting brackets and had to rebuild a lot of it ... I have had the loom off the truck and changed wires with it though .... yes you are correct they designed them to slide the wire through and then assemble the ends .... possibly they did not have boots on them in that era for the trucks.

Nope, I might get one of them through but that would be it.  It's pretty stout and the channels are fixed in location so not going to be able to bend it.  I really don't need to move the coil till I find an oil filter so I'll just get some of the standard wire looms for now.

Had to go out and look at mine to remember what I did .... If I did it, we know it is not right  :D

First of all my generic plug wires are too short. I just ordered 6 universal plug wires the same length from RA.

Just something to get the engine started .... never did change them.

I cut slots in my mount for the wires .... it is easy to take off and on as needed ... not very often.

I have had my coil bracket off several times before finally decided on electronic ignition, and it is in its final form now.

If the wires were long enough, I think they would stay where they belong with no problem .... only 3 wires on each side.

Or you can install the wires, cut to length and do final assembly in place ... hope you do not need to remove later.

If that was a universal plug wire set, then the boots and crimped metal contacts on the distributor cap side can be carefully removed.  Run them wires through the looms as required, then reinstall the boots and crimp the contacts back on.  The molded spark plugs ends are not original, but are practically required to keep that contact sealed to the plug...Mopar even marketed an Evr-Dry kit to upgrade original plug wires for performance gains.

I took my boots off and reinstalled after.

I haven't posted for a while because I haven't really done anything with the truck for a number of reasons.

The title got wrapped up in an estate because the guy I bought it from forgot to have it put into his name and the prior owner had passed away a few years ago.  Fortunately, the prior owner's estate was still in probate court because he had cars scattered all over the place too so the truck had to navigate that process as a "newly discovered asset" and the title was finally released to the guy I bought it from.

It took us quite a while to meet up because I am always at work and they are always traveling.  The old guy didn't really remember who I was and forgot he had to sign the title before I could do anything with it.  I asked him to sign it by the X and he promptly signed it by the buyer's X rather than the seller's X so that's not good.  He really struggled to write his name in the correct space when I asked him to, he's really going downhill, poor guy.  He lined out and initialed the "buyer" signature so I hope that flies with the DMV title office.  If not, I'm not sure he'll remember me if we have to go to the DMV for a duplicate title.

In almost 50 years of buying and selling cars, I have never had so much trouble with a transaction.

So...I have quite the dilemma to work through and I'm not sure how it's going to play out.  Hopefully, the title gets transferred at the DMV despite the issues and I can at least have a clear title in my name soon and have some options from there.

That's the latest, more to follow when there is more to report.
