Bobacuda Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Anyone here using the Rustic Disc Brake kit on their truck? Thoughts… reviews? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 Do you mean Rusty Hope disc brake kit? I have his kit on my truck. There are some challenges you'll need to work through, but otherwise it's been working fine for many years now. Much improved stopping power, even with the stock master cylinder. 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 Merle, I thought the same but search show said company as listed. 1 Quote
Merle Coggins Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 Interesting... I hadn't heard of that brand. Obviously I'm not familiar. 1 Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 neither was I Merle, and like you, first thing my mind said was a misnomer for Rustyhope.....I stand with and behind Charlie (olddaddy) and his products and admit he has been a friend for many years. Few folks have had issue, very few but to my knowledge none have been left without guidance after the sale, I know, I have been consulted on one or two of these transactions. Quote
Bobacuda Posted November 25 Author Report Posted November 25 FYI - Texted the folks at Rusticdisc. The kit is $895, and it will not fit the truck’s factory 16” steel rims. They recommend a dual chamber MC, proportion and residual valves. This kit uses the truck’s original hubs, so there isn’t the issue requiring elongating the cotter pin hole. Quote
Solution Old CWO Posted December 1 Solution Report Posted December 1 My truck has had a TSM front disc kit on it for more than six years, installed by previous owner. It has factory 16" wheels and currently running an XJ master cylinder and adjustable proportioning valve. It's fine, no problems. Uses common GM G body calipers and pads - not sure about the OEM application for the rotors but I think they might be Ford or Lincoln. 1 Quote
