Bob Riding Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 I have an acquaintance with a C38 ('48 Chrysler Windsor with the 25" 251 motor) who needs a distributor. I have a working dizzy from my P22 Plymouth, which of course has the shorter block. From what I've read, distributors changed incrementally through the years, so the advance curve should be a bit better with a later model, but I don't know if they're physically interchangeable? Solution Jerry Roberts Posted November 3 Solution Report Posted November 3 The distributor for the 25 inch block has a longer shaft than the distributor for the 23 inch block . Quote
Los_Control Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 I just wonder if it is feasible to just swap the shafts over? Quote
Doug&Deb Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 The Chrysler has the semi automatic transmission which I believe requires a different distributor than the standard transmission. Quote
Bob Riding Posted November 4 Author Report Posted November 4 Did Chrysler offer the semi-automatic in 1948? Quote
