I checked it over the last week, changing the oils etc. For my records, I would like to find information on the oil volume for differential and rear axle. I checked the "Service Manual", several other Mopar books ... Even the P15 D24 Database does not specify these either. Does somebody know?? Thanks for answers! Greetings from Düsseldorf! It is not specified in the box with the picture of the differential and interval for checking/changing but rater in the legends at bottom right corner under capacities...the amount is 3 1/2 pints. desoto1939 Posted August 6 Report Share Posted August 6 DO NOT overfill the differential because the oil can then seep past the inner oil seals and then seep out the end of the axle and then the oil can get on you brake pads or shoes. I keep my oil level approx 1/4 inch below the bottom of the fill hole. Also on the end of the axle housing there should be two small bolts that can be removed. You take these out and this is how you can lubricate the inner bearing. o not use a zerk fitting because you will push to much grease into the are and it will also leak out on the shoes. Put the grease on your thumb and then pack the grease into the hoe makes a couple times but this is the proper method to grease the inner bearing. Read the shop manual on your car. Very helpful! - I really did not find the volume data! - I follow the procedure with the rear wheel bearings since 1995, but I didn´t know that a zerk fitting would allow too much pressure.
