A picture of the Southern Lights from the farm tonight. About 7.30pm, late autumn. Not usually visible at our latitude but quite magnificent tonight. Next pic shows the daytime vista from a similar place on the farm. Not sure why it is so strong tonight but I think the Northern Lights are putting on a show for you guys up north. Haven't seen this before in my 65 years...

Nice. No luck at my little acre in N. Illannoy. If there's a celestial event worth staying up for in N. Illannoy, you can count on cloud cover. Friends 20 miles north had some good viewing, though.

I believe it's due to an extraordinary sun flare that occurred a few days ago. Similar affects in the attic as well.

Yes HUGE coronal mass ejections....seems to be a 20 or year cycle.    I'll post a thread for the north side.
