RCrombie Posted January 20, 2024 Report Posted January 20, 2024 I don’t often post on here but I saw this article and I thought it might interest folks. Here’s a story about the “Blue Goose”, a pair of 53 Chryslers that were joined together and run on a railway in order to transport gypsum miners in California. What an interesting solution and an oddball car! https://www.thedrive.com/news/100-mph-in-a-1953-chrysler-on-rails-untold-tales-of-the-blue-goose 3 Quote
DonaldSmith Posted January 20, 2024 Report Posted January 20, 2024 There were rail inspection cars through the years. Some were back-to-back. Drive to the end of the line, and get in the other end to drive back. Others built-in jacks and frames, to lift and rotate the car. I've got photos somewhere. but maybe someone will beat me to it.
