Wait a minute, that's way too tight according to some old geezers that work on SBCs, lol.  Sorry, another thread here.

I've read that thread. It goes both ways. I like it in the middle. To tight and the flow may be less, I feel. Now my rods are babbitted along the sides almost like a thrust bearing. I want to make sure there is enough flow along with it being a little tight

4 pistons are in. In the morning me and the wife will finish the pistons and timing chain. Recheck everything and then the head.

Good progress this morning. Wife installed the last two pistons and the head. Timed the camshaft also. I forgot that the early cam markings are 180 apart and not together.

Thank you to dodgeb4ya for rope seal idea. This was not fun with the block out of the car.

I spent several hours checking/fitting/working those factory asbestos MoPar rear main seals...take plenty of time to be sure it's right as you know.?

I hope that they are good. Just starting the bolts with sausage fingers was fun

Tonight the oil lines, fuel lines, wiring harness, flywheel and clutch, and the carb linkages and cables.

Also mounted the horn and put oil in it. Don't want a stupid accidentally turn over without oil.

Needs tweaking to run on its own but we have smoke.... She fired up for a couple of seconds on all six. Need to charge the battery to play with it
