Tired iron Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) Hey good folks. I havent posted in a while about my Meadowbrook project because I've been schooling in the upholstery world. The interior was completely gone and I decided to do all the work myself both because it'd be a chance to work on some new skills...and, well, I can't afford to have a upholstery shop do it! SO, I got a great old Consew industrial sewing machine and a whole bunch of cloth and vinyl and foam and have been learning how to sew, thanks to YouTube. I've just finished the door cards and am currently working on sewing a headliner. It's been quite the head scratcher cause the original headliner was completely missing and I've had to make up a template and then transfer that to the headliner cloth. I've just finished sewing it up today and later this week will see if it fits. It's a big if, but if I really got it wrong i'm just out the price of 3 yards of fabric. One thing I can't find is the chrome lever on the drivers side that adjusts the position of the front seat. Anyone know where I might find one? Mine is broken off in half. Bryan G Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 I've toyed with the idea of trying my hand at upholstery, to the point that I drug home an old heavy-duty Singer. I have a lot of practicing to do, but maybe some day I can follow your lead! Quote
MarcDeSoto Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 There are upholstery outlets that will sell you the headliner pre-sewn for you, if yours doesn't work out. Hats off to you! That's one area I'd be afraid to try. Quote
Doug&Deb Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 As far as the seat handle I’d try Moore’s Salvage. Otherwise try eBay. It’s a pot metal piece that breaks easily. Quote

I've found it to be a very enjoyable change of pace And your hands don't even get dirty! 9 hours ago, MarcDeSoto said: There are upholstery outlets that will sell you the headliner pre-sewn for you, if yours doesn't work out. That's always a lot of fun. 53 minutes ago, Sniper said: Mopar part number 951887 https://www.ebay.com/itm/275214244909?epid=25010258221&hash=item40140c1c2d:g:rVEAAOSw3gxiMQNo Thanks, I had missed that one.
