I have 6 volts going to the ignition connection. The elements are not heating. Does it need to be grounded some way? Wiring diagram shows four connections, two to the sender, one to the ignition switch plus a brown wire. Edited October 27, 2022 by Sam Buchanan Quote
jgreg53 Posted October 27, 2022 Author Report Posted October 27, 2022 The blue and the brown both hook to the ignition switch post. I shouldn't have to start the motor to make the connection. Right? Quote
jgreg53 Posted October 27, 2022 Author Report Posted October 27, 2022 The inner workings of the gauge appear to be rusty. Thinking contact cleaner. Quote

Your blue wire carries a 6vdc to your gauge The brown wire looks to be your 6vdc supply to the switch Turning on the switch should operate your fuel gauge. Quote
jgreg53 Posted October 30, 2022 Author Report Posted October 30, 2022 After taking the NOS gauge apart and applying liberal amounts of contact cleaner, it works. I don't know how accurate it's going to be. I need to fill the tank and see what happens. It's showing a little more than half tank. I think I have a little more than that in the tank. Might need calibration adjusted. Loop 1 Quote
jgreg53 Posted November 3, 2022 Author Report Posted November 3, 2022 Filled the tank and the gage went to one quarter tank. Took it out and worked on the calibration. I also ran new wiring from the gage to the tank. It's reading full now when I know the tank is full. Quote

jgreg53 Posted November 3, 2022 Author Report Posted November 3, 2022 Right now I'm watching to see if it goes down as I put some miles on it. 1 Quote
