Dash Lights

What are you using to replace the old 6 volt dash lights/holders.  All of mine the wires are frayed badly.  Would it be possible to just disassemble and use shrink tape to repair then get 12 volt bulbs?  Thanks for input

you can actually pull the wire though the housing and spring, remove the holder/insulator and then replace the wire...I often just use about 1/2 inch of the existing wire with the old insulation removed, solder my new wire on, sleeve with shrink tubing and let the big dog eat.....

If your contact is corroded, replacement single conductor pigtails can be found at NAPA etc.
