YukonJack Posted October 26, 2020 Report Posted October 26, 2020 What are people doing to repair/replace the spare tire well on a P15. Mine was repaired by someone before I bought the car and they did a terrible job. I'd like to correct it. Quote
mrwrstory Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 Hey Jack, It was a long time ago but I repaired/replaced mine with a aftermarket trailer fender. Cut the old one away, made the "side panels" and flanges with sheet stock and welded in place. Turned out pretty tidy but wouldn't fool anyone who was really anal about being original. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 I took one out of a parts car...I drilled the spot welds out to remove both tire wells completely. Button welded the "new" tire well spot welds...looked factory. Quote
YukonJack Posted October 27, 2020 Author Report Posted October 27, 2020 I live in Illinois, I don't think there are many rust free donors around here. I saw some new ones on Ebay a few months ago but they were for 55 Chevys. Looked similar though. Quote
Sniper Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 I took a look at the Plymouth Doctor's offerings, I did not see any spare tire wells listed. Wouldn't hurt to ask him though. he might know a source. http://theplymouthdoctor.com/ Quote
