The flat surfaced round ones are 3's and earlier, the long rectangular ones or 4's and were used for quite a few years since then. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also the rear fenders may not be a 100% identifier as I am pretty certain the cycle style fenders were still standard on the express models. On the subject of wiring ........ there shouldn't be any real significant difference between the 2 years.
