I have just recently installed a Mopar 61 heater in my 1949 Dodge B-1-B truck and I need to know which inlets on the heater my hoses connect to.

Welcome to the forum.

The inlet is the top pipe on the heater core, which connects to the valve at the back of the cylinder head, and should be marked with cast letters "heater" on the head.

The outlet pipe is on the bottom, which connects to the nipple on top of the water pump.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

I have a temperature cable hanging lose on the inside of the firewall, so I assume I should be looking for an engine mounted cable operated heater valve for the back of the cylinder head. Any thoughts?

The first picture is the cable operated valve that was on my B4C. The second is the valve on my P18. Seems to be a fairly common valve . I've seen them NOS on eBay, but expensive. I may have an old used one if you can't find a new valve.

On cars there is a tap in the rear pass corner of the head for feed, and a return on top of the water pump. An elbow in a flat piece bolted on with two bolts.
