Does anyone know the weight of the factory flywheel 

has anyone lighten a factory wheel and how much

I needed to have mine refaced to get under some hot spot areas. So it was lightened and rebalanced in the process ess.  If I recall about three ounds came off.

I’m looking for the  factory weight of a 218 flywheel out of a 1952 Plymouth

I could go out to the shop and weigh one  but guessing is easier.....30lbs.

Trying to find if Plymouth made different weight flywheels for 218 engines

Can't answer that question, but you might get a clue by digging in the parts books.  Look at the P/N for all those with the same flywheel ring gear, clutch size and bolt pattern.  Any difference would be weight.  I suspect that trucks and industrials will have heavier flywheels.

 

I know that back in the day, everyone running dirt tracks cut the 'wheels to get snappier acceleration out of the corners.
