What alternator works on a 49 plymouth

Hello am rewiring my 49 plymouth with a ez wiring kit and was wondering what would be a good  alternator for it has the original engine  thanks in advance for all ur help

your choice..you going to be making your own brackets and such as it is......what are you experienced in using or what are you comfortable brand wise.

A lot of the universal wiring kits seem to be set up for a GM one wire as well as a number of other GM pigtails.  Nothing wrong with using an older Chrysler system.  They're really simple also and with the more open housings, they provide a bit different look than the commonplace GM unit.

Since you are rewiring the car,you need to decide now if you are going to rewire it for positive or negative ground,and then buy a matching ground alternator.

Thank you all for ur replies really apreciated it some one told me they used a chevy k5 alternator and it worked perfectly and hes local so i might go that route n check out his set up
