I have a leak at the pinion seal.  In addition to insuring the current seal is torqued to min spec according to the Service Manual, I should make sure the vent hol is not plugged.

Anybody know where the vent hole is?

yup multipurpose bolt. It also holds on the T for the rear brake lines.

This is interesting. This type of vent is just like the ones on my two '67 Plymouth Fury's. I'm not sure that the bolt is the same size but the style looks to be the same .

Yep its probably the same bolt, 1948 to 1967 is only 19 yrs so more than conceivable that the same part would have been used.....its surprising what parts were used unaltered for yrs and by the same token its just as surprising what things were changed purely for asthetics.........andyd

what's always amazed me is how far into the 60s they were still using the DPCD logo when one of the Ds didn't exist anymore!
