Guillermo Durgin Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 Hello mopar owners, i am am having trouble adjusting the shifting linkage. I can’t get reverse and it seem to only have 2nd and 3rd. It’s difficult to do alone without someone to meet be the linkages while I am underneath. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. attached are some photos. G Durgin Oakland, CA Quote
greg g Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 Check the rubber bushings on the steering column pieces, if they are mush, the levers won't move far enough to engage. Quote
knuckleharley Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 You obviously have it up in the air,so see if you can engage first and reverse manually from under the car. If you can,you know it is a linkage adjustment problem/ Quote
pflaming Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 Check where the shift yoke lifts the collar. I adjusted, etc, etc, with no results. Then I discovered that over the years a build up of HARD grease/dirt in that collar so that that lift yoke would slip off and not lift. Once that was clean, adjustment was NOT critical. In short, CLEAN EVERYTHIG !! Good luck. Quote
MackTheFinger Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 And please post the results for anyone who may have the same problem. Quote
pflaming Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 AND check the mount at the top of the post. Everything must be firm. . Quote
