Jolly Posted May 22, 2018 Report Posted May 22, 2018 I need help indentifying this 2” long copper oiling tube. Apparently I didn’t give this to the machine shop when they assembled my rebuilt 1940 Chrysler 241flathead six. I’m thinking it might belong behind timing chain cover. I guess this is what can happen when 5+ months pass after you disassemble an engine. Thanks Quote
busycoupe Posted May 22, 2018 Report Posted May 22, 2018 I think that you are correct. It looks like the Oiler tube for the timing chain. However before you start taking apart your newly rebuilt motor, perhaps one of the more knowledgeable members of the forum can chime in. Quote
BigDaddyO Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Makes me wonder what, if anything, the machine shop put in that hole. Quote
Jolly Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 I will find out. Unfortunately, I have to open it up. Before I do I will stop by his shop, show him the part and ask if he remembers that he didn’t have it. Quote
