Kiwicranbrook Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Can anyone tell me what year/model S10 callipers the scarebird kit uses? We have plenty of blazers in the wreckers yards so I just want to make sure I can source the correct callipers before ordering a kit. Cheers Quote
medium_jon Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Yes, They answered one of my questions on a Sunday. Nice people Quote
Kiwicranbrook Posted July 6, 2017 Author Report Posted July 6, 2017 I have emailed scarebird. Figured there was just as much, if not more knowledge here. No harm in asking right? 1 Quote
casper50 Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 I just bought new ones from Orielly's. Weren't expensive and I knew that they were new. 1 Quote
40desoto Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 (edited) The kit will come with instructions and describes the year, make and model of where the calipers are from. Of the top of my head I don't think they were S10 calipers unless they changed their design. I believe the caliper was from a Caprice and the rotor from a Ford Escort. I'll look for my paperwork to confirm this evening. Edited July 6, 2017 by 40desoto Quote

dale Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Left and right calipers are so the bleeder valve is in the up position I believe. Everything to change my 1946 to front disc came to $600 from Scarebird and NAPA. Quote
50 coupe Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Keep in mind, they do change their kits from time to time. I needed a replacement spindle adapter for a kit I bought a few years ago. Fortunately they still had a couple left from the prior kit version. Quote

I purchased my kit about 4 years ago and I'm positive it called for a Chevy Caprice caliper Quote
casper50 Posted July 7, 2017 Report Posted July 7, 2017 Mine used the caprice calipers as well. Quote
