Plymouthy Adams Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 now we are into Messages per Thread.....I'm going for coffee and a snack cracker... Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 Guess I'll have to give you guys a little more hint info on the MPT. Here it is. My Lumina van gets very good MPT. It averages only 1 or slightly less. My wifes little Kia gets about 36 to 38 MGP on the highway. Never checked the MPG in the city. However for city driving it only gets half of what my van gets. It only gets 2 MPT in the city. Now, the coupe gets far more MPT than either of them. That should help you on the MPT question. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Funny you mention that norm. For some reason in 47 the last year for this series of trucks they started putting a hole above the sender. Its got a steel plug similar to that one that goes in the bellhousing. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 Ed, sounds like someone in the engineering/design department finally got smart back in 47. Maybe, you could make one like that. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Maybe by 47 a few of the 39s had needed new sending units haha. I haven't decided what i want to do. The tank is only 4 bolts and the line to drop and there are no straps to worry about breaking like on a car. The issue is really just to find the time to do it when the tank is also mostly empty. I just filled it wed night too! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 Looks like you guys gave up on what MPT means. MPT = Month's Per Tank. My coupe gets a pretty steady average of 3 to 4 tanks per year (MPTPY) Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Also, we have a few old cars in our neighborhood. One guy has a pretty low mileage 59 Chevy Impala sedan he never uses; another has a fairly nice 1960 Chevy 4 door sitting in the yard he plans to spiff up before using. Another in the subdivision has a nice 56 Chevy. There is a 53 Olds hardtop, and the oldest I know of is a 37 Dodge 4 door rod sitting on a Dakota frame and running gear....painted orange. Quote
1just4don Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Isnt an OLD car like that pretty 'LOUD' painted ALL orange or even red,,,dont think they ever came out in those colors,,but whatever trips his pickle!! I used to have an orange car too but it was broken up with black stripes and a black vinyl roof. I just think a solid bright color like that looks too 'busy',,,but that is just me,,,I would still 'buy' one like that,,,just wouldnt choose to paint one that color!! Around here red (especially sports) cars get picked on and get stopped more often for speeding etc. They stand out from the crowd I guess!! Hard to miss them!! Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Looks like you guys gave up on what MPT means.MPT = Month's Per Tank. My coupe gets a pretty steady average of 3 to 4 tanks per year (MPTPY) Sorry I missed it Norm; Guess I was thinking along the lines of Years Per Tank in your case:D Quote
