51_Meadowbrook Posted December 16, 2019 Report Posted December 16, 2019 John I hope you took the family out to get the tree in the old car. It’s a lot of fun seeing everyone stare and smile as you drive by. 2 Quote

Worden18 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Report Posted December 21, 2019 12-20-19: Had the Meadowbrook out last night for a short cruise. The battery was down once again, but it still started. It also needs a tune-up big time. I'll probably get to all of the maintenance in the spring as I'm not regularly driving it now. Felt good to be behind the wheel as usual. If I don't post again before next week, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! 2 Quote

Worden18 Posted February 2, 2020 Author Report Posted February 2, 2020 2-1-20: Did a little maintenance on the Meadowbrook today. I changed the plugs and put in a new battery. The old plugs were pretty fouled from just putzing around town. Took it out for about a 25 mile test drive in the 35 degree weather. The main roads were clear, but the gravel road leading to my house was a sloppy mess. I hadn't driven the car recently, and as always it was a great joy! People downtown were staring like they'd never seen a car older than 1995 ? My older daughter and son rode with. I might take it out for a night drive... Pics 1 & 2: I had the hood open to check for leaks. 1 Quote

Worden18 Posted February 2, 2020 Author Report Posted February 2, 2020 2-2-20: Kids and I went out for another cruise today. Grabbed some snacks at my friend's gas station (Whitewater Travel Plaza) and then headed over to another friend's place to check out his new car hauling trailer. Got lots of smiles and waves as usual. 2 Quote
Worden18 Posted February 2, 2020 Author Report Posted February 2, 2020 Friend's trailer. He's heading out to Western MN soon to his mom's place to retrieve his 1970s Porche which is in pieces. 2nd pic: Travel Plaza owner using his 78 Ford boom truck to replace lights. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted February 2, 2020 Author Report Posted February 2, 2020 Last pic: Heading out to the highway (Judas Priest)? My daughter fell asleep as the Meadowbrook's purring engine lulled her and the rest of us while the sun warmed up the cabin. ? 2 Quote
Worden18 Posted February 4, 2020 Author Report Posted February 4, 2020 Feb. 3, 2020: Drove my daughter to a neighboring town at 7pm for a haircut. I parked right in front of the door, and as soon as we walked in the gal that cut my daughter's hair asked what year the Meadowbrook was and said she liked it. Pic 2: at Kwik Trip for a soft drink. It was windy and cold, but the heater kept us toasty. ? 2 Quote
Worden18 Posted February 9, 2020 Author Report Posted February 9, 2020 2-8-20: Daughter and I went out for a long cruise and a visit with my brother and his kids. It started out bad. When I flipped on the heater switch, I smelled gas. Dumped some floor dry down and pulled back into the garage. Jacked up the car. Gas was dripping out around the fuel pump. I tightened the inlet and hose clamp, and the bolts that hold the fuel pump together. Problem solved. Roads were clear. Sun was shining. Pic: Warming up before we left. 1 Quote
