I sold my 53 and 54 Suburban shells. The buyer is planning to put the best body on an 84 Dodge Pickup. Question: is that doable?

it will take a HOST of work to host that body using the 84 full size frame...you only had frontal damage to the one frame...what happened to that setup???????  be much easier and faster to just clip it but then it is not my vehicle and apparently no longer yours....glad yo were able to move them......

If you own a good welder, a sawzall, and an angle grinder with plenty of cut off wheels, anything is doable.

doable and worth doing is a totally different set of concepts....many time folks will do a swap based on what they have on hand or access to for cheap, not so much the best candidate for the job at hand.  Would never say a built approach is not doable...only that in the end will it have been worth it.  It is the marriage of the two oddly built cars seemingly getting fused into one that eventually go to the crusher..

True; but some times "worth it" is in the enjoyment of giving it a go as much as results. You always learn something, even if the lesson is not to try that one again.
